A visit from the sponsor does not have any negative consequences to the applicant's file. It can, however, be debatable if the visit adds any value to the application process. I do think it adds value if the applicant's case is weak... If I am satisfied with my original application, I wouldn't plan a visit to strengthen the case further.

Is there a difference between the approval receiving date and transfer of file date ? I thought the day we receive our approval from mississauga is the same day our file gets transferred, How does one find out the transfer date if it differs from the approval date?

I got AOR via Email from CPP- Ottawa on July 20, 2012 stating my file is transferred to Islamabad. My e-cas does not show my file transfer date. Why is it normal?

This is normal and should be start showing after few month.

Inshallah you guys will hear some good news........personally I feel visiting Pk slows down the process. I have seem many examples of such where husbands or wifes visit pk and their files take a little longer. I don't want to sound negative and I understand how it feels ( I have gone through the same thing). But I didn't visit my husband even once after coming here nor applied for any visit visa for him. I didn't want to complicate things.

no if husband/wife visit pakistan during sponsorship process it doesn't effect, it has a plus point that our spouse visit us and we show more and more proofs.SO i think during the process He/she should visit pak at least once.

Y do u have to worry. U r not alone I sent them 3 days later and I m also waiting like you. Ur medical status has been updated mine is still showing in process. So stay positive and hope for the best. One of our freind g.hussain got the passport after 3 months so we r still in the safety zone.

Good for you! eid al adha in Pakistan is the best! So much joy and energy everywhere you go... At least when you give qurbani in Pakistan you can see how much people appreciate the blessing...

My wife called to make an appointment for re-med in Islamabad and she was told to come September 10, and she told them on the phone that she is pregnant and they did not say anything to her regarding that situation just said to come sep 10. I read the letter and it says it will take chest x-ray. Is chest x-ray bad for a 4-5 month pregnant woman? I heard that it does not affect the unborn child as its directed to the chest. Also I want to clarify something regarding a permanent resident giving birth in a hospital. Some people have said if you have not been in Canada for atleast 3 months you will not be covered as a new immigrant. Others have said when you first come to Canada they give you a paper (OHIP or something) that covers you to go to doctors, etc. So say that my wife comes in December, 2012 and gives birth late January will there be a hospital bill for me or no?

Sorry to tell you but no, you do not have any health care coverage until about the third month in Canada (varies by province). The federal interim health is for those first 3 months but only for refugees not PR's...thus your sponsorship agreement that you won't have your spouse as a burden to the government...cause the federal program is additional cost whereas regular provincial coverage is from your taxes and premiums.

If its very important maybe look into private coverage? I would imagine its very expensive though.

mine has not been updated either, my wife did her medical on july 19th. my status online is still the same as the start, application received. just order gcms notes and you'll have a better picture of what is going on.
