I dont know about benefit but u get an idea if they have looked at your file or not -- so if you get a Bxxxx number from them it really doesnt mean that the initial review is done( meaning that they have looked at your file) -- but then Also some people got their PPR in 10 months, so there could be a slight chance --- once you have the BXXX number, after a few months you can order CAIPES or GCMS notes to find out what is going on with your file

Hi,

No need to worry.. They will take 2-3 weeks with the passport and stamp the Visa.. so the Visa should come by June 15th InshaAllah

Keep looking for Decision made on E-case and the address updated as "Canadian City, Province" .. When you see these meaning Visa is stamped. My wife got her Visa the same day it changed.

hi danny, can u plz clarify smth for me? when ur wife's address updated to canadian address, was it "home address" or "mailing address" changed to canadian address? thnx alot

application sent on May 10th

letter from embassy on July 17th that
they received my application on 28 jun 2010

requested medical and other documents

documents sent on 20th July

Permanent Residence We started processing your application on July 17, 2010

Requested again same documents 12 Jun 2011 and other proof and police verification

In 30 Jun 20011 asked for medical again

In September said to provide all information in one of my forms like 6 month gape was there so re submitted that form

2 more emails sent in between this time period
Same response back ground check in process

Still waiting for response

I wanted to ask a question that in the first letter they said that in 9 months they will reply

At that time the process time was recently changed to 18 months and after 3 to 4 month it changed to 21 months then to 24 months and now it is changed to 26 months

Like if the process time is going to increase on their website
Will it be increasing our application process time

And what else can we do instead of waiting

On this Jan 28 it will be 24 months science the visa office received my application in Islamabad and more than 25 months science my application was originally submitted in Canada office by my spouse

I am kind of being frustrated at the moment could not survive a single day aren’t they bounded to any restrictions that they must have to process the application in that certain time period what to do can anybody give a exact figure or process time

Did you try emailing CHC-I to inquire about the status of your application? if not you can email them and ask where your case stands

If you read the Immigration guide for spousal sponsorship, its clearly written that we must not send any CD's with the package. So I doubt if anyone sent a CD of their wedding Video. If you want to show them the content of the CD, you can run the Vdo on your Computer, use print screen to capture a moment and edit & save it in Paint. Then you can either print it on a paper OR have them developed.

As per instructions that I read, unless its changed, you are not allowed to send any electronic devices/discs etc. so you cannot send your wedding video . Just pictures and those too have to be loosely put in the envelope.

Yes, i was aware of that statement by CIC in the instructions. I was wondering if anyone still went ahead and attached the video anyways.
The shadi DVD comes in a nice cover with a picture of us on the cover with a different picture of us on each event cd(Maiyoon, mehndi, baraat, shadi ceremony, walima). It screams non-fraudulent marriage and authenticity.
I guess I wont be attaching it, better safe than sorry.

After talking to the call center agent, I was told that I can either send additional documents to the mississauga office, or to ISB after my file gets transferred there.. I wont be sending it to the Mississauga office because that doesnt make sense.
Did you guys send in the additional documents from Canada directly to CIC-ISB using a local courier up here, or did your spouse in PK send it via TCS to the high commission in ISB?

I sent all the additional information to ISB;no reason to send it Mississauga via UPS. This way you know exactly when they get it; I agree with you about the DVDs but as you said "better safe than sorry".
