I am new here.. I have a simple question..

My wife was PRC holder in Canada and my immigration application is in process in Islamabad. Now she got her citizenship call. Once she becomes Citizen and gets passport, can she come and live with me here in Pakistan while my application is still in process? because Canadian citizens can live abroad during this process.. or she will have to stay there because she applied as a PRC holder.

There is no problem for Canadian citizens they can live outside Canada whenever they wish Except one thing. that is if she lives more then six month with you in trip outside Canada. Then may be CIC ask her in later days what is her plans for job or resteal in Canada. Example I'm here in Pakistan from last 5 month with my wife. But leaving next week back to Toronto.
With hope insha Allah she will be soon join me in Canada before my next trip.

I live with my wife and she has not live in Canada for five years. We ask immigration and they said it's okay as far as your wife is a citizen and not a permanent resident.

Ok 1 more question... Is it OK if my wife doesn't have a Job? She is living there with her parents currently. Will she need to prove financial support and income?

BTW I wont need any financial support because I have savings that I can afford expenses for at least a few months and secondly I plan to get on a job quickly... But I just wanna know if CIC wants her to show income? Or its OK to say "UNEMPLOYED" on the form. which she is...

They may ask your wife to show how she is planning to support you when you join her in Canada. This has happened to a few forum members in the past.

so my file was opened on feb 2012 (last month) and my wife just got a letter instructing her to do remedical and submit passport in 30 days. my question is how long does remed take? and after submiting how long more does it take for her to get visa?

any ideas would be appriciated

Seniors please explain why not Re-Medical at this stage? it does't make any sense to waste another 2-3 months for medical

It makes me tense when I read timelines of you people.. People who applied in 2010 are still and waiting for a TCS or email from CHC ISB. Is it really worth sacrificing 2 years of your married life to settle in Canada? It's OK for them whose spouses are Canadian citizens and can live with them here in Islamabad.. but whose spouses are on PR cant even leave Canada.. That's cruel. 2 Years is a LOT of time in married life.. and early marriage years are the GOLDEN days in a person's life... I think it's a real sacrifice for those who are doing it... and I hope Canada would really be a paradise where all your dreams can come true... otherwise I feel it would not be a deal worth making. Because when you get your visa you would be leaving friends and family in Pakistan. So both ways there is (waiting for visa or getting visa) has sacrifices involved.

What are your comments friends? Is it really worth it? Plz share your views on Pros n Cons on marrying a person abroad?
