Assalam O Alaikum

Hope you all are doing gr8. I have a question ! .. we were requested to send some forms again. We sent them on 25th June and they were received on 27th June at CIC islamabad. We haven't received anything after that.. I read one of the threads where someone was asked for re forms on 27th June and got re medical request on 12th July.

Can someone tell me when should i be expecting remedd or ppr request?

Also is it possible for someone to go in person and have visa stamped instead sending the passport??

Pls reply.
Walekum Assalam,

Welcome to the forum. CHC-I is very unpredictable and inconsistent when it comes to sending requests. It is due to different Visa officers having a different approach towards their cases. It is very likely that the person who got the forms was supposed to get the Re-medical together with the forms but it was missed and was sent out late. So its hard to say when you can expect your Re-med as it varies from case to case and VO.

They don't allow taking the passport in person and stamp the visa right away. There is a BFD (bring forward date) for every case. So lets say that they sent you the forms and your next BFD is July 30. It is the date your file would be opened by the VO and he would see if the supp forms were received. If they were received, he would process the info and make another request i.e. Re-med or Re-med/PPR depending on if the background check is over.

Can anyone please Guide me that im checking my status via Client IDD number.i want to knw is,should i ask CIC. for File number?i mean File number contains More information than Client IDD number or they r just same?

waiting for Reply
File number is usually received through AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt). Since they have stopped sending AOR's therefore you need to email them in order to get your File number.

Client ID is for the person who is sponsoring the spouse and the file number is for the person being sponsored.

They usually have the same information till the file is opened. Also, they don't update it on a regular basis once the file is opened (i.e 8-10 months of the file transfer).

Alot of people who have already been waiting for 1.5 to 2 years already want to get the VISA before they implement this new rule so they don't have to wait another 2 years before getting PR Card. So lets see when they actually implement this.
Wes brother, does this 2 yr temporary visa rule apply to spousal cases only or to all family class cases i.e. Parents, brother, sister, niece &nephew?

I believe it will be just for spousal cases since they want to control fraud marriages. Parents case take 8 years anyways these day so I don't think they really care about that ::)

Its true: Currently it is taking 46 Months in Mississauga for sponsorship approval (currently working on Sept 7,2007 files), and then another 42 months in Islamabad. You do the math bro. Thats 88months = 7.3years.

Check below in the parents and grandparents section for Step 1 and then click on "view by country" for Step 2 (Islamabad)

The immigration minister said it himself in a news report after reducing parental VISAs that 'the parents are likely to see a cofin before they see their VISA :'( '

I guess people who don't have respect and feelings for their own parents or families, how would they care for others.

I just got the detail news about conservatives being so tough on granting family visas. Here is the copy of that news.
Immigration to Canada drops by 25 per cent in 2011
Published On Sun Jul 17 2011
Nicholas Keung Immigration Reporter
Canada let 25 per cent fewer immigrants into the country in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2010, raising concerns the Conservative government is embarking on a bold plan to restrict the country’s immigration levels.
The number of permanent resident visas issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada between January and March fell from 84,083 in 2010 to 63,224 this year, according to figures obtained by the Star.
The latest department numbers show a decline across the board, with visas for, family-sponsored relatives down 14 per cent, and refugees dropping by 25 per cent.
The significant drop in visas comes on the eve of public consultations Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is holding on the country’s immigration levels and classes of people that should be allowed in. The first meeting was held in Calgary last week, and another is scheduled in Toronto Wednesday.
“It’s a very sharp decline,” said Myer Siemiatycki, professor of politics and public administration at Ryerson University, referring to the visas granted. “It begs the question: What is going on here?
“Has the government decided on the outset that they want fewer admissions? Is the tap being closed tighter?”
In the months leading up to the May 2 federal election, the Conservatives touted 2010 as a banner year in immigration, welcoming 280,000 permanent residents, the highest in 50 years. In 2009, approximately 265,000 immigrants were granted permanent status.
The Conservative government has announced it intends slashing $4 billion in annual spending from the federal budget, raising fears of further cuts to the immigration system. More than $50 million was slashed this year in settlement services.
“The success (of immigration) is determined by the resources. This government has been cutting resources and a number of provinces have,” said New Democrat immigration critic Don Davies.
Immigration lawyers say fewer permanent visas could mean bigger backlogs, especially for family sponsorships where there is no cap on applications like there is for skilled workers and investors.
“The real problem with backlogs is parents . . . The math says people will die before seeing a visa,” said immigration lawyer and analyst Richard Kurland. “That is the major challenge to Canada’s immigration system today.”
Immigration lawyer Mario Bellissimo said he would not be surprised if the minister brings in a new law to cap family sponsorship applications. Since 2006, the number of visas for sponsored relatives and refugees has declined, while visas for workers have steadily increased.
“The (immigration) minister has the authority to decide who can come to Canada. Since 2008, the federal government has made numerous changes to its immigration program in an effort to eliminate backlogs and process applications in a more timely fashion. It counts on capping the number of immigration applications it accepts for processing.
A department backgrounder for the upcoming consultations, which are by invitation only, suggests while increasing immigration may be one way to solve the growing demand, With an aging population, “immigration levels will need to be raised to 350,000 annually to support Canada’s economic growth,” said Anne Golden, president and CEO of the Conference Board of Canada.
Ryerson’s Siemiatycki said Canada has a capacity to take in as many as 450,000 immigrants a year by including the 200,000 temporary foreign workers that it lets in to fill labour market needs on a perennial basis.

Assalam-o-Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

Just to give you all a heads up, if you are planning to fill out Sponsorship application for your spouse, or have recently received request to resend IMM forms, print the updated forms(07/2011) or else you will get the old ones back and will be asked to refill the new ones.
Seems like they have updated all the forms in July 2011. I hope all of us in process don't have to refill them again :(
