Thank you all for helping people like us who do not have any clue what to do after submitting their spousal cases. Through this forum I would say that we will get patience and courage enough to go through this long waiting period.

This time again I need to inquire about few things and I would be grateful if anybody especially experienced members would help me out for that as this is very important to know about. My query is that, after how many months the sponsored person would get the Re-Medical or Re-PCC request? Is it when they (Islamabad embassy) start reviewing the case? (After 9 to 10 months of case transferred) Or Is it when they have done their inquiries and will about to give visa to the sponsored spouse?

From what I have seen in the last 9 months on this forum, they do the initial review after 10-12 months of the file transfer usually. People who had their file transfer to Islamabad in Nov/Dec 2010 and January 2011 still are waiting for their initial review to be done. So it has crossed 14 months for some people. But we are hoping that CHC-Islamabad will start the initial review on these files in January 2012. From there its a quick process of 3-4 more months if everything is clear and the case is strong and straightforward. Also, husband cases take longer usually due to a second background check.

The first step after the initial review is for them to send a Re-PCC (updated PCC) request and a few forms that were initially filled with the application. The reason they ask to redo some of the forms is to see updates like if the person has changed work/school/completed education etc etc. They ask for Re-PCC to check if there was a criminal record of the applicant since the last PCC was issued. If the case is without rukhsati and not strong (i.e. satisfactory proof of relationship) then they also send either an objection letter asking for rukhsati to be done or for more proof (i.e. proof of visit). It all depends on the immigration officer dealing with the file.

The next step for them to evaluate the updates and ask for remedical to be done (as its expired in 98% cases). Sometimes they issue the PPR along with Re-medical depending on their Visa quota. Otherwise Passport request comes in after they get the medical updates. Now if the PPR comes with the remedical it takes them 45-60 days to return the passport. If it comes by itself after a few days of the remedical then it takes anywhere from 15-45 days to return the passport.

Congratulations .. atleast they gave ur husband an interview date.

It can take upto 3-4 months after a successful interview. If they ask for a police clearence certificate, then they would want to perform background check which takes a minimum of 45 days. Also if your husbands medical has expired, then they will ask for a Re-medical. All this would take a minimum of 3-4 months. Make sure your husband is prepared for the interview.

i know a similar case where it took the guy 30 months (Husband case)

1.) The wife was older.
2.) It was the wife's second marriage.
3.) The husband had a bullet hole on his chest. (according to x-rays) He made an excuse that he had shot himself once for his ex-gf. Hahahahaha.

Another case I know, this guy i know fell in love with a refugee girl who was on asylum here...(wife case)

He got married to her and applied for "Inland Spousal" while she was already on asylum...he did this through a desi consultant...the file went no where....the consultant took $1000....and no updates for a year...in a year when he called to get an update...they said that she is on asylum and in order for him to sponsor her...she has to take her asylum back and return to her own country...and the visa office there can process spousal sponsorship there...he applied in June 2010....and over the summer he filled out imm forms and re-PCC...after that its interview q....he did hire a professional lawyer this time around...in case n e thing goes wrong after interview or afterwards...marrying a refugee is a typical case....
