I have never went through US and in any case I will always avoid going through US. They immigration officer always give hard time to Muslims and I have heard a lot of horror stories. Even a star like Shahrukh Khan (I don't like him but just an example of their extremism) got hard time last year when he went to US they kept him locked down for half day just because his name contain Khan. Indian high ministry had to get involved as SRK is very popular and powerful in India.waiting110 said:yaaar kisi ka Chicago airport pe koi experience nahi?
well, based on what has been going on recently, you should get PPR within a week. My wife's status went 'in-process' on the 19th and then yesterday she got a letter for PPR.innocent_eyez said:Can Senior members tell me how long does it take after status goes to In Process to get PPR and then visa??

thank you for reply. I have heard a lot of stories as well but they are only about men travelling in pairs or alone .. I wanted a woman's with hijab experience but I guess this is enough .. Ill take montreal then but the ticket is 1800$ even in off seasonpardesifr said:I have never went through US and in any case I will always avoid going through US. Just imagine what they do to regular people with color and especially when they are muslims.
In any case these Americans are cowboys and I have even read in these forum that they even give hard time to Candians (white guys) while crossing border.
My piece of advise avoid it if you can, don't try to take risk and get stress for saving some dollars. There are direct flight (or through other countries) to Pakistan from Canada.
An example this was posted this week in this forum : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/not-so-happy-landing-t134986.0.html
As Pardesifr said, I too will never fly via U.S.A. pay the extra and fly safe. I too have had to pay extra to fly via other routes. I remember last time I was getting offers for return flight via U.S. for $1250 or approx. $1700 via UK. I took the latter just to avoid trouble.waiting110 said:thank you for reply. I am a female and I flew via US this December when going to visit my husband in Europe. I had a really BAD experience They searched me like crazy and made me miss my flight. I would never recommend it. I personally had no choice, because all flights from Canada were full and I had to go ASAP so I took the risk.waiting110 said:thank you for reply. Hoping now "In Process" changes to "Decision Made" Insha'Allah soonmaryah.nayel said:ecas updated to 'in process' on 20th feb 2013 Alhumdulilah!
thanx forreplycanadian immigrant said:I think at this stage it will not be a wise decision at all.Bcz u will be definitely hear something from them within next 2 to 3 months. If u receive Remed then u will definitely require Passport for remed . If u recv PPR+Remed then in that case u will need PP also. U should wait until any update from ottawa.
If it is inevitable for u to join ur husband than just apply for TRV . If u got Remed or PPR during that u would have to recall ur PP from CHC and in that case u have to withdraw ur TRV application.
Choice will be urs Sis.
hopefully inshaa Allah very soon. Thankyou so much!Naqibee said:Hoping now "In Process" changes to "Decision Made" Insha'Allah soon
