Qback, order your notes id say. you will know the progress. Call Ottawa centre and tell them its over 13 months now, they need to hurry up. Until and unless we contact them, they wont touch our files. they need to give us a solid reason behind why its taking so long for Ottawa to process our files.

I am new to this forum although i am a pretty old case from 2010.. so basically im a wife case and was issued my visa two weeks bak and got done with the whole process (phewww) but my medical is due to expire end of march this year......due to a few complications im not able to plan my trip to canada on such a short notice and would need an extension of VISA... anybody knows how do i go about it? Please this is urgent, hope you members will be kind enough to guide me as this looks like a very useful and helpful forum! wish i had discovered it before! waiting for a reply!

When you arrive in Canada, you must show your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and your permanent resident visa to a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) officer at the point of entry to Canada. The officer will make sure your travel and immigration documents are correct.

The CIC officer will check that your permanent resident visa has not expired. The expiry date is shown on the visa. You cannot use the visa after the expiry date. Permanent residence visas cannot be extended, so make sure you use it within the time limit.
You must bring with you a valid passport or travel documents. If presenting a passport, it must be a regular, private passport. You cannot immigrate to Canada with a diplomatic government service or a public affairs passport.
You will have to answer questions like the ones you answered on your Application for Permanent Residence in Canada. The CIC officer asks these questions to verify certain information on the application.
You must inform the visa officer of any funds you are bringing into Canada (cash, stocks, bonds, money orders, traveller’s cheques, etc.).

If there are no problems when you arrive in Canada, the CIC officer will authorize you to enter Canada as a permanent resident. The officer will also use the address on your COPR to have your permanent resident card mailed to you. Make sure your Canadian address on the COPR is correct.

Permanent residents are given the permanent resident card as proof of their status in Canada. Your card will be mailed to your Canadian address after you arrive in Canada as a permanent resident.

good, did u get any news abut PPR yet ? we r almost the same date i mean i did my remedical in June 2012 too but still waiting for my PPR n they said to me by e mail that we sent you a letter through regular mailing address on 29 December but didnt get it yet i dont know wat to do

just a question...how is it tht ur pp request was in May 2012 and u sent is in Nov 2012...dont they give a 15 days time period to send passport or they will not process ur application??

Bcuz i was visiting my husband in Canada on TRV and in May we sent CHC-I letter that we are expecting our first baby in Aug so i cannot travel until Nov. for this reason i sent my passport 6 months after getting PPR.

You should have sent your pp there r ppl waiting here for -6-7 months till they send there pp and they dint get it back and also if they had issue the visa it wasent going to expire till ur next medical.
