The thing is, we didn't plan a full rukhsati function per se. Just maybe a dinner at a restaurant with close family and friends. I'm not sure what they want, a full on Pakistani style function?

How did it work out for you?

More than the rukhsati itself, they require a proof that you both have lived together. We had full rukhsati function, and later we took a lot of pictures with friends and family on dinners. We gathered all the receipts; hall, jewellery, dresses, honeymoon bookings, dining out, we also took pictures on outings, and at home. The best way to convince them of your genuine relationship is to take meaningful pictures that feature not only the two of you, but also other people, because the couple could be fake, but not so many people would be ready to stake their futures and their children's future by being part of a fake marriage. And most of all, have loads and loads of fun together. Don't do it just for the paperwork, accept it as a great new beginning in your life. Good luck!

2. micmac101 (Well they asked many questions about our relationship. How long have we known each other,when did we get married. One was about the age difference me being 58 and him 40.I had converted to Islam in 2006 and had hard times. He was intoduced to me through an online friend I had known about 4yrs.
The interviewer was impressed about my coming here to visit him several times and my husband told him i was sitting in the waiting room waiting for my husband.
We had brought more documents for them to be examined but he said they had enough already.
The interview to 2 1/2 hrs. My husband came out smiling and was told a letter would be received in the mail. Now what all this means I don't know but we hope and pray its good news coming.)

Asalam Aleikum all,
I need suggestion from experienced forum mebers plz.
My wife is pregnant and the anticipated delivery is March 2013, INSHAHALLAH.
I have visited Pakistan twice already this year and preparing for a 3rd visit....tired of this travelling...cant concentrate on work or family..
So, my question...do I update chc about my wifes pregnancy, if so, will a doctors letter and ultrasound results be sufficient?
I have already sent ton of paper work and proofs from my visits to Pakistan...sent email, ordered gcms...still no response from chc....
gcms people have not sent me the results yet..been a month already....
Any suggestions/guidance will be appreciated

You should be getting your GCMS notes very soon. IT takes about 32-35 days in total to get the notes, so hopefully you will get them soon. Once you get your GCMS notes, you will have a better idea of where your case stands as of right now. My suggestion would be to wait for your GCMS notes as it will help you decide your next step. For now, don't tell CHC-Islamabad about your wife's pregnancy, or they will send your file to the waiting area and put a bring forward date of March 2013 on it.

dont worri India takes only 4-6 months i know mani people who have gotten their visas in about 4-6 month period n even some new cases here from Pakistan n Afghanistan are being finalized 8-10 which is realli not fair for the rest of us....

May be people who are waiting the longest should write down wat kind of sin we have done to get this... but da same time we get the best reward for being patient from ALLAH SWT.

Yea i know. MP office said to me they can make an inquiry since i complained that 2011 cases are getting done vs ours (2010). At moment I am waiting on them to confirm on consent form for status check / send it to me. I will follow up tomorrow or so.

Walekum Assalam,

It is not necessary to apply for GCMS notes through your consultant. You can just put the consultants info in the required section.

Fill out these two forms. IMM5475E form needs to be filled out by the applicant (in Pakistan) or the sponsor can fill it out and get the applicant's signature on it. Check on "I Authorize....". The applicant's info will go on "Your name", "DOB" and fill out the rest of the column. The sponsor is the designated individual and his/her name and address will go in the designated individual information required. The person being sponsored needs to sign in the applicant signature space. No need to have a signature in the spouse space, leave it blank.

IMM5563E needs to be filled out by the sponsor. Put a check mark beside "Access to Information Act", "English", "Email" and "NO" in section A.
IN section B, write the applicants last name, first name and date of birth. Then put a checkmark beside; "Electronic file" and "Status of application" only and the file number starting with FXXXXXXXXX and embassy as Islamabad. Thats all you need to fill out for section B.

In section C check "this request is submitted by Canadian citizen". Fill your immigration consultants info as required. Then fill out the rest of the information as the sponsors name, address etc etc. Then sign and date it.


The sponsor can pay the fee online; and select Access to Information and pay with credit card. The sponsor will have to register with them, just provide your email and create a password;

You can save the receipt or print it. They will email you a copy on your given email address as well.

Scan and attach both forms and the payment receipt and send it to atip-aiprp @ cic.gc.ca with GCMS ORDER in your subject from your email account. . In the body, just write " I would like to order GCMS notes - Thanks".
