as salaam u alaikum everyone! InshaAllah you are all doing well :)

Just a question/opinion because I am very confused right now...

I ordered CAIPS on behalf of my husband in the end of September and I received them at the end of October. There was nothing that really had numbers or comments on it which is fine since his AOR date is January 2011. Just wanted to see what these CAIPS looked like and what information was included in it. What I did notice was that there was one note and it said that when the file was created for him in January, an attempt was made to forward it to background checks but it failed in their system so it said they would re-try once it would be opened by an IO (I assume during initial review). I also had an email inquiry in October stated file was in queue for initial review.

I got so frustrated and I emailed my MP (very professionally) and his assistant was kind enough to send an email on my behalf regarding file status. She received an email back in which the replier (not sure if it was an IO or those random people who copy and paste generic emails) but she said the following to me:

Hello Fatima,

I received a response from the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad regarding your husband’s application for permanent residency and they advised that the file was recently reviewed by an immigration officer. The application has now been forwarded for routine background checks. As soon as this stage of the processing has been completed, the immigration office will be in touch with you and/or your husband to advise of the following steps.

I hope this information is of assistance to you. I would recommend that if you do not hear back from their office in 90 days, please feel free to let us know and we can send another follow up inquiry on your behalf.

Who do I believe? lol my CAIPS which were ordered 6 weeks prior to this or the email from above. Also take into consideration my husband's file is January 2011 when people in November 2010 and December 2010 haven't heard anything.
Anyways, thoughts/opinions are welcome..help me figure this out :)

Fatima,

Husband's cases normally take longer due to background checks. They have already srarted working in your file and if you husband has no travel history, have not changed many places, cities in Pakistan and have no military services. Then it will not take long. Average processing time for husband is 16-20 months.

YAY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Never mind the dates just go ahead and book an appointment because sometimes they can take up to 2 weeks or more and hopefully its the DMP who asks for the letter when you actually go for the medicals so you will have it by then otherwise you will have to wait for the letter to arrive. 15 days for PP is only if its just PPR but since its with remedical you can submit everything within 30 days (by November 25th).

Congrats...so u wont be "stuckhere" n e more...hahaha...this is what I wanted to inquire about...on my wife's Ecas the mailing address is my reps address...and its a Canadian address of course...now of course all the corespondense from CHC-I will come to my rep here in Canada...and as I can see it takes about 20 days plus 4-5 days to send it back to my wife and then to CHC-I...the IMM forms and rePCC have to be sent out within 45 days and PPR within 15 days if no remed...what can I do in this situation...i will post this question on the other thread as well so other members can see it as well...i think the answer to this will help out a lot of people...
