Hello everyone,

I have a question....I apologize if I'm not posting this in the right place.

I am a canadian citizen and I have applied for my wife's sponsorship who is in pakistan. The application went to Islamabad office in Sept 2011.

I was wondering since it will take around 2 years for this process to complete, can I get my wife here on a student visa. She is finishing her mbbs degree in Jan 2012. I can try to find her a program here to get admission in. Please let me know if anyone has done this before and have been successful in it. From what I hear, the visit visa is usually denied by the embassy, what about a student visa application? Any suggestions and examples from experiences would help.

There is possibility to get the visa but you have to convince them that she will go back after completing her education. I know one girl, her husband's PR application was in process and he got the student visa.

In the PPR letter, the authorization bit (name and signature) for collection of passport has to be left blank right? I dont have a lawyer or representative- Should I just enter my mailing address in the section below?
