Yes I liked the fact she was questioning him but after she said something he kept saying "you can't compare APPLES AND ORANGES" he had nothing better to say...honestly so small minded it makes me mad. Apparently kirpan shouldn't be banned because that is religious freedom but niqaab is not...anyway the main point is that he forgot to mention that I am also making it harder and longer for SPOUSES...and these spouses will actually benefit the economy as well and will be tax payers
Yes it really is messed up. I was watching that interview of his and it clearly shows his non-Muslim favoritism policy. I guess he was referring Muslims as Oranges and Indians or non-Muslims as Apples. His policy is against Niqab/Burqa and he is OK with Kirpan and he is right in saying that if a person can show his face when applying for immigration to Canada then they should show it as well when voting or when the law says so. If you can compromise your religious believes when trying to come in to Canada then why you don't want to follow the Canadian law. If you don't want to show your face due to religious reasons do not apply for Canadian immigration. Why this double standard?. He clearly said that they want such immigration policy that favors or helps grow their economy. This might be a reason why Indian time-line is so short because there spouses specially women start working right away after landing eventually pay taxes and contributes to the Canadian economy, also they don't wear any Burqa or Niqab. I know non-Muslims or Indian families here and mostly all of them having all of their family members working which is not in case of Pakistani families mostly. Also you must have noticed that Indians easily get accustomed to the Canadian culture whereas most Muslims stick with their beliefs either religious or family and don't mix up with other cultures. Mostly Pakistani females do not work in Canada due to family or religious reasons. Most of the people in my neighborhood who are Muslims there wife's do not work and stay at home thus not contributing to economy instead they go no welfare becoming a burden on Canadian economy. on top of all this we have such reputation of an extremist nation that west doesn't like at all. so they want to keep us away as much as possible from their country thus increasing the time it takes for a decision. really is very sad but its true..as they say..."Baat to Such hay Magar....Baat hay Ruswai Ki"

Another interview of Kutta Kenney on family reunification...

http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/jason-kenney-interview/16angqh2k?cpkey=cbcc2010-2903-1341-0021-145458719700%7C%7C%7C

This video shows that Kutta Kenney is against muslims and niqaab but favoring sikh turbans... He is against muslims and against Pakistan thats why we have so many issues and there seems to be nobody to come up with any solution, bcoz Canadians have re-elected them for the third time and this lucky guy (Kutta Kenney) got the opportunity to become more famous having the same seat with even more number of votes in May 2nd election. He is going to play a nasty game. I support people who have written letters to Kutta Kenney and prime minister.

I have done almost everything but still do not know the answer. I am having issues with my in laws about this processing delays, I might be filing for a divorce soon, but I will hang in here and will do everything i can to shake people up in the government.

I have tried to find answers through the following channels:

- CIC Call Centre (They cant give you the answer because your file is being processed outside Canada)
- CHC-Islamabad (Nobody answers the phone, if you get lucky somebody in the reception will answer your phone and say send email or fax)
- Islamabad email Inquiry (99.9% chances are your are going to get a generic reply that "Your application is currently in process and is in queue for initial review" if you are within first year of your processing time)
- Emails to ministers (People have sent emails to immigration minister and prime minister, most of them get a generic reply that we are aware of the situation and your request has been forwarded to the minister's office)
- Email to MP at my local area (No Reply)
- Email to news channels (nobody really cares except Rosemary Barton @ CBC news, this video shows how she asked questions to immigration minister)
- Emails sent to High Commissioner and Deputy High Commissioner @ CHC-Islamabad (They never replied)

Facts about Canadian Immigration (cic.gc.ca) and CHC-ISlamabad (pakistan.gc.ca):

- cic.gc.ca timelines for all categories of visas as oppose to CHC-Islamabad website. They have not updated processing time pages or they are not synced. Date modified is shown at the bottom of each page of Canadian immigration websites. You can compare the Date modified and you will find out how they are playing this Game.

- CIC websites claim that the immigration process is fair and people will be notified with the status of their visas. Basically, you are screwed if you have applied for a Canadian visa @ CHC-Islamabad.

- CHC-Islamabad is taking almost 2 years to process spouse visa, but spouses from China and India are getting visas in 4 to 6 months.

- CHC-Islamabad does not touch spouse application in first year, therefore medicals and police clearance certificates expire after one year and then people have to do this again on their own expense. Things get changed in one year, people move from one place to another, its not that easy to get police clearance in Pakistan.

- CIC charges almost $1100 in advance for processing a spousal visa and unfortunately online e-cas systems shows "IN PROCESS" even if a person has got the visa stamped on his passport.

- CHC-Islamabad is taking 10 months for a worker visa and 5 months for a student visa as oppose to their mentioned timeline of student visa (9 weeks) work visa (16 weeks). First of all people have to find a job in Canada, apply for LMO which takes 6 months and then add another 10 months to get a work visa. Minister Jason Kenney should just say to my face that I don't want you in Canada. People have been waiting for student visas for 5 months and most of them have been deffer ed for the applied semester.

This is the time to wake up, we have waited enough for the new government and now we know things will get worse if we dont stand up now. We have to do whatever we can to resolve this issue at CHC-Islamabad not for few who are in this forum but for the people of Pakistan. People who apply after us should not have to go through this never ending delay. The processing time can be much faster, people will accept refusal of the visa rather than waiting for months and years and then get denied by an immigration officer. After all, your life should not be in hand of one immigration officer. We should have other chances bcoz it is our right...

I have been following some immigration forums especially for Canadian embassy in Islamabad and I am posting those links here so that you can read and find out how many people have been suffering.

Here is a letter from MP. Peter Julian from House of commons. He wrote a letter to Honourable Minister Jason Kenney in January 2011.

http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/2593414/letter-to-minister-of-citizenship-and-immigration-january-2011-2-pdf-february-11-2011-11-05-p?da=y
immigration.ca (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/chc-islamabad-spouse-sponsorship-timeline-2009-2010-t28775.4365.html)

There are some facebook groups about processing delays at CHC-Islamabad.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/CIC-Islamabad-Pending-Cases/120356291328093
http://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/home.php?sk=group_101385463271280&ap=1

Following is the link of CIC website and you can read that they claim to complete 80% of spousal applications within 12 months which also includes step 1 of the process which gets processed at CPC-Mississauga.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/service-standards.asp#family

Here is another petition site which discusses about temporary Resident visas for spouses while their applications are In PROCESS.
http://www.gopetition.com/petition/31391.html

Another petition website for processing delays at CHC-Islamabad. It has been signed by 121 people in the past.
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/spouse-immigration-delay/

A visitor visa concerned was raised by Olivia chow, Member of Parliament NDP.
