Changing spouse to accompanying

Hello experts

If one has a spouse unaccompanied in the Express Entry profile and receives NOI from Ontario. Does making the spouse accompanied in the OINP application make the NOI invalid or has any impact on the application due to different information in express entry and ONIP profile? I plan to update my profile to accompanying spouse after i receive 600 points but i am not sure if i should make spouse accompanied or unaccompanied in my ONIP application.

The General rule of thumb, is to keep your express entry profile same with OINP, if you call any OINP call agent, they would say the same, however people have also been successful with OINP nomination adding spouse accompanying even though its non-accompanying on EE. If you choose to make them same, after nomination you can update your EE profile, to accompanying, then send an email to OINP of the change to family information(spouse accompanying), they would ask you to fill a form and send it with the subject Application Change Notice - (your file number) and this is allowed as peoples circumstances may change.

Thank you. So if i make both oinp and ee profile same to nonaccompanying and after the 600 points i change my ee profile to accompanying and email OINP, can they retract my nomination? Can this count as misinterpretation? FYI me and my spouse are both in Canada on work permit

Lool. well to be honest am not a consultant, and i wont know if that count as misrepresentation (humble guess not, what if your partner wants to go and study abroad for 3 years (this being the reason why u made her non-accompanying and she changes her mind after you got Nomination, its your family personal situation), and i havent heard of anyone retracted nomination, unless he doesnt prove full intention to reside, even in the nomination certificate the only restriction is that you must demonstrate at all times your intention to reside in ontario.

did you add spouse accompanying post nomination and before EE ITA after mailing to OINP .

We had this scenario and asked OINP. This is the response:

"Thank you for your correspondence to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

Please note that the OINP nomination is only issued in the name of the principal applicant. This nomination can be used to submit a permanent residency application for the principal applicant and his/her accompanying dependents. Please ensure that you have the necessary settlement funds in respect of all of your accompanying dependents.

Applications for permanent residence, visas, permits, refugee status, and citizenship fall under the jurisdiction of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Any enquiries regarding your application for permanent residence, visas, permits, refugee status and/or citizenship must be directed to IRCC."

You can add spouse as accompanying after receiving nomination and before getting EE ITA. Cheers!
