Changing NOC

Hi All,

I have applied for canadian immigration in July with NOC 2173. But 2-3 months before applying my company gave me extra responsibilities (similar to Project Manager) and is now asking me to pass PMP for my role.
As such there is no change in my designation. Can anyone please let me know if I can contact CIC and change my NOC to 0213 (IT Mgr) as that suites my role now.

But the problem is I can't get any letter supporting this except that I was asked to take PMP in an email for my new role.
Any help is appreciated.

if this is not affecting your application you should not do anything except wait for a year, until you've gained experience. You need to share bit more info.. where is the job Canada, US or elsewhere . If your Job is in Canada it might give some positive value to your case, but you still need to satisfy rest of the criteria.

I have nearly 5 years experiencce in India and 5 years experiencce in US and last 1 year I have been doing managerial work.
I didn't include NOC 0213 because it was just 3 months with my new role when I applied, now it is almost 1 year with my new role.

Please advice.

When you have 1 full year under 0213, if they have not rejected your application yet, send them a letter asking to amend it. If they have already rejected your application at that point, apply again under 0213.

I have sent a new Schedule 3 with new NOC (0213) with my PMP certification (notarized).
Can you please answer my questions below.

1. I know this may sound very suspicious, but I got new responsiblities from Jan/Feb (was backup for my Manager) and from Mar/Apr I became a full time PM.
I was asked to pass PMP which I did in Dec 2008.

2. So now I have sent all the docs, will CIC just return my application without even going through my explaination or can I assume that they will go through my application with an open mind.

I have this question because initially I had not put this NOC as it was just couple of months.

Thanks for your quick reply. At this time I am not sure if my application is in Sydney or Buffalo(Where I sent first time).
When I check my application status online, it says they have started processing.

I may have to wait for some more time beofre I get some idea.

There have been a number of posts in other forms where the applicant has tried to change their NOC category on applications under FSW 1. Sydney has refused.

If you have submitted your application and the NOC you claimed is not on the "list" you cannot amend you, will have to submit a new application and its up to you how you will convince Sydney the your previous application was wrong.

My previous application is not wrong. After sending my appliction my role changed.
So to make sure:

CIC will send my application back and I have to apply again if I need CIC to consider my application.

Correct?

1, In your original post you stated your job duties changed in July to those in 0213, well you can't resubmit until you have had 1 year in that position. They will send your application back.
