I landed on September 1st , 2017 in Canada. I got my study permit for York university for a bachelor degree. After attending classes for few days, I found out that I didn’t liked the course and the course was not like that as I expected. So,I took a refund for my fees and left the University and got enrolled into Seneca college for a 3 year advanced diploma for January 2018 intake.

I also transferred my DLI online by creating a CIC account in October 2017.

On my study permit, the field of study is mentioned and I want to change it?Can I do it now?

So,now I would like to know that in future when I apply for post graduation work permit will there be any problem because I took a break from my study from September to October but I updated CIC about the change of school back in October?

Should I return back to my home country because I have a fear that in future I will not get PR?

After not attending your university for 90 days your student visa should have been canceled. You should make sure you have a valid student visa.

Not sure if biotechnology comes under healthscience. If not then you may have problem in getting pgwp. Others can comment however.

But I have transferred my school online by creating a CIC account.
Since you had restricted study permit which means that you need to stick to that field only. Changing online doesn't stop you in anything.

Better take advice from some professional because I guess boitechnology and healthscience are 2 separate fields.

All the best

As noted previously, if you have been out of classes since September, I would be expecting IRCC to be cancelling your student visa any day now (Sept 30-Dec. 30 = 90 days).

More on the same topic:

Compliance monitoring
This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada staff. It is posted on the Department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

A foreign national who applies for a study permit and receives it on or after June 1, 2014, is required to meet the following conditions:

  • they must be enrolled and remain enrolled at a designated learning institution; and
  • they must be actively pursuing their course or program of study. This means that study permit holders in Canada must make continuous progress towards completing their program of study.
To monitor compliance, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is developing a compliance reporting portal through which designated learning institutions at the post-secondary level will provide the academic status of their international students to CIC (e.g., full-time, academic suspension, no longer enrolled).
