Hi hello,
this is Katharina. I am a German student here at Carleton University currently - due to various difficulties I met in the last three months trying to focus on a qualifying year I am currently considering to withdraw from my studies.
At the same time: before I applied for the study permit, I had already been granted a working holiday work permit that is valied to be activated until 17 Jan 2018.
My study permit was granted to me on 27 August - and this is the with which I entered Canada on 8 September. Now, I am in discussiong about the withdrawal.
One of the questions I need to clarify is about my immigration status in Canada. I would like to CHANGE my status.
I already know - since August - that a working holiday work permit and a study permit can be held at the same time. I wonder, the day that I receive my confirmation of withdrawal from my course, leaving Canada - re-entering I wish to use my working holiday work permit that, as I said can be activated until 17 Jan.
Does anybody have any experience with this?
I do not find ANYTHING about such a case online - no getting through the hotline EVER and I don't know where to turn to.
I need to know whether this reasoning is correct - as once again I cannot seem to find any way to get an appointment with IRCC.
thank you for your information and sharing
Katharina
