Changing Employer During PR Application Process... Can It Be Done?

I've run into a bit of a snag on something and am having a hard time finding valid information. Any help would be appreciated!

I currently have an active PR application through the PNP (Alberta). We were asked by CIC to do the medical clearance 3 months ago and have completed it. My work permit is valid for 1 more year.

Recently, another Canadian employer has contacted me about working for them. This presents some questions for me:

Would switching employers require me to apply for a new work permit, seeing as my current one is valid for only my current employer?
Can I apply for a new/updated work permit for a new employer while my PR application is still under review?
The potential new employer is based in Quebec, while the PR application was submitted by an Alberta employer. Would changing employment to a employer who differs from the province that nominated me wipe out the entire application, or is it still valid because the PR application is flagged as complete with the CIC?

Please advise, I appreciate any wisdom you may have!

1) You can't move to another province until you receive PR;

2) You can't work for another employer if your work permit is tied to your current employer.

Well. That settles that then. One followup question.

On the chance that this other employer really wants to go the extra mile to get me, would they able to apply for a fresh work permit on my behalf? Or would this be denied since I would be past the allotted visitor permit window of 4 years? (Currently I don't have this problem since my PR application is active, and can renew as needed)

At the moment, it looks like I may just have to hold fast until my PR is fully approved, and these other guys will have to consider if I would be worth waiting for...

You have to understand that if you move out of Alberta, your nomination will be canceled as well as your PR application. The employer from Quebec will have to get a positive LMIA as far as I know..

That part is understood, yes. I had just been wondering if this would then mean that my ultimate working status past the 4-year mark in Canada is now intrinsically tied to my current employer, as the only reason I am in possession of an extension is because of my active PR application.
