Changing address after getting VISA (before landing)

Hi,

I, the sponsor, will change address before my wife lands in Canada (our application was an outland application). My address on her CPR will be outdated when she will show this paper to the customs.

1) Do I need to notify CIC of my change of address before my wife lands? If so, how do I do it?

2) After my wife has landed, do we have to keep CIC informed when we change of address? If so, after how much time can we stop to notify them?

No, you don't. CIC will confirm with her the CORRECT address with which to send her PR card as part of landing procedures. You can stop right away, you/she will update your address next perhaps in a few years when and if she applies for 'citizenship'.

However, just be aware that an 'inland' applicant here recently went to "land" with her sponsor and they did NOT have matching addresses . . . this apparently raised a red flag with that particular CIC agent and has caused them considerable grief.

our address was set to my dads address and when my husband landed he just got them to change his address to our current place at the airport.
not a big deal.

and after you land, no you dont need to tell cic where you are living, unless you move before your PR card arrives, than you must tell them so they send it to the correct place.
other than that you are allowed to live anywhere in Canada and do not need to tell them if you decide to move in the future :)
