This thread is so great and kudos to all of you for the valuable information you guys provide, so thank you!!!

I am now filling up the new application form and kind of confused with the following questions:

1."During your eligibility period did you live outside of Canada" - Does this apply to me? Do I tick yes or no? My eligibility period is from 2012-10-11 to 2017-10-11 and became a PR on 2014-05-30. My wife and I have never been to Canada or lived in Canada before becoming PR. My thinking is that, of course I lived in other country before becoming PR. It's not really clear if this question applies to me.

2.For police clearance? Do I need it since I lived in the US with my wife for more than 183 days before becoming PR in Canada during my eligibility period. Again, we've never been to Canada before becoming PRs.

I appreciate all your help in advance! Thanks so much!

Cheers!

Dear logical ones:

question 13 -- do I have to cite my other visas (student visa outside 5 year eligibility, or 1 year work visa in the US) in this question or just my nationality? i am not sure what immigrant status covers

Yes. To be clear: I am basing this answer on the following line in the document checklist: "Photocopy of proof that demonstrates adequate knowledge of English or French"

Obviously it would be impossible to provide a photocopy without opening the envelope.

Hence my recommendation.
Thank You!:)

You were mainly a student. It was your study permit that allowed you to RESIDE in Canada. That is what matters. The co-op work permit and the OCWP did not permit you to RESIDE in Canada. They only permitted you to work while you reside in Canada by virtue of your study permit.
There was a time on my study permit when I was preparing for my thesis, but at the same time did a part time job for a company for 5 months, can we overlap work ex and study related experience? Or I should just put it as Student

Guys are you still facing problem with physical presence calculator? After first 1-2 step it is showing "This site can't be reached", needs to start over again. Already did it so many times. Really frustrating. Any solution to this?

Put both, periods can overlap. On the other hand, never leave a gap.

Guys, are we supposed to list our to and from dates in the physical calculator temporary resident status based on the permits we held? I'm a little confused because I had two permits (open and then bridge) so do I list two types of residency statuses or just combine them into one? I ask because I had a gap of about a month in between where I was on implied status as per R183(6) so I feel like it makes sense to list all of it as one but then do I list the to and form dates for the maximum I am eligible for the period i.e. from the 2012 to when I became PR?

Q11: In my employment section, it asks for Name of Contact, phone number and email. I think they are asking for employer contact. If you have a large employer like big bank or Telco, we just give the 1800 number and what contact info we give for name. Chief HR officer??

Question 11. Where were you physically located. Is thay the work address? Or mine
Ive talked to cic agent this morning regarding this section and she told me to write my address since its asking where were YOU physically located and not asking for the address of the company or the educational institution. the best would be to call IRCC and ask the agents to get the proper answer. call IRCC at 888-242-2100

Hi everyone,

I am ready to send the application tomorrow, and have few clarification questions to confirm my understanding/approach. Any input is appreciated.

1. The new checklist does not ask for a confirmation of permanent residence document, neither does it ask for the PR card. I have copied my PR card for the personal identification document requirement. There is no need to submit the copy of the confirmation of PR document, correct? I am also considering including it just in case.

2. Today I was told again by London Drugs and Costco photo labs that they have always been told to put a stamp at the back of one of the pictures. I took 2 stamped and 1 with a clean back side, just in case. I am considering sending all three of them, so that in both scenarios I am covered (both photos stamped vs only one of them stamped). Has anyone confirmed with IRCC by calling them whether they want both photos stamped or one of them? I realize that in the guide it says "photos".

Thanks in advance.

Hi SPYFY,

I already sent my application today.

However I noticed that I just went by the checklist and didn't include the photocopy of PR card or the COPR.

Is there a way that I can add it now?

I would really appreciate your inputs on this.

That's very confusing. Why would they ask it if they have already asked for our addresses in another section?
