Hello Everyone,

I applied for my citizenship on April 11 from Toronto. My application reached CIC on April 15 and I am currently waiting for an AOR.

In the meanwhile, I just bought a condo in Toronto and I am planning to move down to the new Condo by June 30.
In a perfect world I would get my AOR by then but in case I do not get my AOR by then what are my options to change my address?
Also if I do receive my AOR in the next month or so, do I get a file number which I could use to change my address?
I am open to all advice :)

I am really hopeful that the AOR reaches me by email as opposed to Snail Mail/Regular Post :)

If you have mentioned your email address in the application then you will receive AOR by email and then once you receive your AOR, you can update your address online.
Usually it takes 3-7 days for E-CAS to activate after receiving AOR then you can change your address.
Also, I would also recommend you to have someone check mail at your old address, in case you don't receive AOR by email.

Usually it takes 1-4 months to get AOR.

Thanks, Coolguysam. You are awesome! :)

Yes I did mention my email address in my application. So I am hoping I get my AOR by email.

If for some reason I do get my AOR by Snail mail/regular post and I am not there to receive it. I could still check my e-CAS with my PR number correct?

Keep in mind, there is no guarantee that you get email AOR. I got mail AOR even though I had my email address in the application form.
Keep checking eCAS, as soon as you see "Received" status for your citizenship application, Call CIC and update your address. You can also update your address online in eCas. Also as thecoolguysam mentioned, it would be great if you have someone that could check your mail. You can also activate mail forwarding in CanadaPost website for 6 months or a year (as far as I remember, I used it once before).

Thanks, OP_POP! :)

That is the fear I have too that I will receive my AOR by mail. I am checking my eCAS status every day with my PR Number, Client-ID and Confirmation of PR document number *Fingers Crossed*

yes, start checking ecas everyday either using PR card number or client ID. Client ID is the one that works most of the times.

I have never seen a "do not forward" stamp on any letter I got from CIC.
Or was I really not careful reading them ...?

Yeah, I never seen that as well. I think zoya_99 is confusing between mails from CRA and CIC. CRA letters (like your NOA, etc.) has "DO NOT FORWARD" on them.
