Change my Visa Conditions (from Student to Visitor)

Hello Everyone!

I applied for a Student Visa in March through Visa Application Center in Caracas (Venezuela) and It was approved 2 weeks after, but the real problem was that I got my passport with the Visa 6 weeks after the approved (because of Venezuelan problems) and I could not start my Post Graduate.

My wife applied for the same Visa 2 months before me and She already started her Certificate because she got her passport On Time. We are already in CANADA! so, Do I have to change my Visa Conditions from Student to Visitor before to apply for an Open Work Permit after June 1st.? or just wait for June to apply for an OWP with my Student Visa?.

...just for clarification; you are both in Canada with study permits. Your wife is studying but have you been studying?

As of June 1, only eligible students can work-off campus for certain amount of hours per week. Eligible meaning; those who have been pursuing their studies. If that's your case, you don't need an OWP.

Why do not you get into program on a leter date? Like if you have your SP for May you could try to enroll since September?
As a spouse of a student you may apply for WP(OWP) but would not CIC concider you misrepresented when came on SP but never started studyng and now ask for WORK permit (OWP)? Not sure at all how it could work.
