Hi All,
Im from India and I had applied for a Canadian PR under Skilled worker federal nominee. I got married weeks before I got my email to complete my medicals. I submitted my medicals and subsequently got an email to submit my passport and i submitted my passport for the PR. My visa was processed and stamped by the High Commission of Canada, Colombo. I also received a Conformation of Permanent Resident(CPR) letter.
Along with my passport and CPR I received a letter stating that I have to update my file with any change in my marital status or dependents.
My husband lives in the USA and is on his H1B Visa. The following are the questions I have and any help/ advice will be greatly appreciated.

1. Can I still travel to the USA and then travel to Canada to process my confirmation of my PR and include my spouses detail then or after?
2. If the High commission of Canada asks me to submit my passport to process the changes, can i request the file be moved to a High commission in the USA as I will be traveling to USA shortly.
3. Since I have a valid PR stamped in my passport and my case is closed, how difficult or easy is it to add my spouse to my application. What are the repercussions of doing this at the moment?
4. Will my visa stand a chance of being rejected at the Canadian port of entry if I do not update the High Commission of change in my marital status.

Many thanks in advance for all your help.

It is MANDATORY for you to update your application with the change in your marital circumstances BEFORE you make any attempt to "land" in Canada. If you don't, you are committing the offence of misrepresentation.

Probably not. You can ask but don't be surprised if the request is ignored or refused. To be honest with you, the request to include your new spouse should have been made as soon as you married, especially as you subsequently had communication from CIC regarding the medical request. You have made things much more difficult than they needed to be. Is your new spouse a Canadian citizen or PR? If not, they will have to undergo the full criminal, security and medical examinations. If for any reason, they are inadmissible to Canada, so will you be.
