Dear Experts,

I am writing today to know what should be done about my current situation. I am a permanent resident residing in Canada. In 2017 I filed asylum and the basis on which I claimed asylum has been completely changed now since it has been 6 years and a lot has been changed by the authorities, I received my pr in 2022 December. My question is since my home country situation has changed at this point will I be able to visit my home country or I will not be able to do so as long as I don’t get my citizenship.
If you all can help it will be very helpful for me.

Thanks.

I would suggest dont travel unless you get citizenship. It could really affect your PR status! Dont risk it

If your goal is to retain your status in Canada then you shouldn’t return to your home country until you have Canadian citizenship.

Do not return to your home county until after you have citizenship.
