Certified True Copy

Hello,

Have all of our documents together. They have been translated by a certified translator. Marriage certificate (also stamped by Canadian embassy, applying from Thailand), Criminal Record Check, House Registry, Soldier papers, etc. These all have the official translator stamp. Now do I need to have the Thai copies signed and verified as true? Or does the certified translator count?

Very confused. Any light would be appreciated or I will be running around getting all these copies written on for potentially nothing?

Yes, you have to attach certified copies of Thai documents along with the translation. The certification by translator is applicable for the translation only.

I agree. I still remember some one wrote in this forum that the Canadian Immigration is not a Kid's play!!

i was under the impression that if the translator was certified and listed on the immigration website you do not need to include anything else with the translation, other than of course the original or photocopied, certified document in whichever language. No?

It's only if the translator is not certified would you need to start getting into extra paper work such as affidavits etc.

If the translator is certified then he/she has to attach copies of the translated documents with the translation. These copies should be sealed/stapled/stamped with the translation.
