Certified check from ICICI bank India?

Just came back from ICICI bank (India)

Foreign Drafts are no more provided with 6 months validity as per RBI(Reserve bank of India) guidelines.


Only 3 months Validity provided. But CIC requirement is atleast 5 months Validity.

Please comment if CIC will be aware of this? Worried

Credit cards are not safe mode of payment as the card has a good chance of getting rejected or Declined due to different reasons.

I called ICICI customer care to inquire about certified check/ foreign drafts. They said they are valid only for a period of 3 months. However, CIC requires atleast 5 months validity period.

Please advise about payment options.

There is no need for the payment address / bank details in Canada. Your bank will either just write Received General for Canada, or will add a bank, that they may use. For Example, I have used Standard Chartered bank for FDD. They have made it payable to Receiver General For Canada, Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto. Even though I have not provided, but they got the info from their country head office.

Normally they encashed it in timelimit

Yes, I called them up. They said since its a foreign draft nothing can be done. I really hope my application is processed within 3 months.

There are no option of 6 months Validity.

It has been made default to be 3 Months validity as per RBI(Reserve bank of India) guidelines
