And if I am paying rent, bills, car insurance, tenant insurance in Canada for past three months, I am sure it counts as residing.

No if you are not in Canada but are paying bills in Canada it doesn’t necessarily mean you are residing in Canada. When did you leave Canada?

February is extremely early to be laid off due to covid in Canada. If the pandemic was such a large issue why did you travel abroad?
