I only have 2 months since I came back. I couldn’t find a job due to covid and self quarantine that I had to do. But I currently found a job and I’m barely starting in May 6.
How long did you live in the US before coming back 2 months ago?I only have 2 months since I came back. I couldn’t find a job due to covid and self quarantine that I had to do. But I currently found a job and I’m barely starting in May 6.
CERB will not affect the sponsorship. You are NOT eligible for it though and should not have applied. You are better off not spending the money as CRA will take all of it back.Since I was 15
Agree that you don’t qualify for CERB. You should be making arrangements to return the money and don’t claim anymore CERB.I only have 2 months since I came back. I couldn’t find a job due to covid and self quarantine that I had to do. But I currently found a job and I’m barely starting in May 6.
Could you please elaborate on why you think Acanadian16 isn't qualified for CERB?Agree that you don’t qualify for CERB. You should be making arrangements to return the money and don’t claim anymore CERB.
You are missing an important part. You had to have lost your job because of covid, you didn’t . Expect a few things to happen. You’ll get a notice to repay, failing that, expect any credits such as gst refund to be with held, and any tax refunds to be held back as wellCould you please elaborate on why you think Acanadian16 isn't qualified for CERB?
It seems that the income you earn outside of Canada counts.

"Does the minimum income of $5,000 have to be earned in Canada?
No.
The income does not have to be earned in Canada, but you need to reside in Canada."
I appreciate your response. Bu the argument the guys in this thread made was about earning 5K in Canada. You are missing an important part. You had to have lost your job because of covid, you didn’t . People seem to notice all the rules about applying for CERB, except the most important one , losing ones job due to covid
your friend can get cerb as long as he earn less than $1000 before tax a month and earn $5000 before this covid19.Hello Experts,
I have a question regarding EI. One of my friend was working in 2 jobs before Covid situation.
Out of these 2 jobs one was full time (40hrs week) another was part time (5hrs week i.e. $240-$250 per month). In both jobs he was paying for EI premium.
Now he got temporary laid off from his full time job due to covid. He is not sure when he will get call again to join back.
He got call to join his part time job but they will still allocate him 5hrs per week.
So my questions are:
1. If he joins part time job for $250 per month, is he still be eligible for CERB or EI?
2. He needs to take public transport to go to work place, but in this covid situation he is scared to take public transport. Can he refuse to join per time job and wait for the full time employer to re-open again? will that refusal make him non-eligible for EI or CERB?
You have to lose your job due to covid which didn’t happen.Could you please elaborate on why you think Acanadian16 isn't qualified for CERB?

No, you are not eligible because you are refusing work.I got temporary laid off from my full time job due to covid since Mar 15th. Yesterday my employer called me to join. I dont have car and or driving license. I am worried to join now because I am pregnant and I am afraid to take bus service during this covid situation. But I am very much interested to join my work once this Covid situation bit stabilized.
In this situation as I am refusing to go to work for the time being, will I be eligible for CERB or EI?
