CEC should be processed faster

Hey fellow CEC applicants,

I feel like CEC should be given more priority in processing based on the fact that we are more integrated, have jobs already, have kids and overall our lives are already tied to this country. I think this is why CEC was created in the first place.

Now, we are processed pretty much the same way as other applications. PNP applicants have a petition, I think we should have one too. What do you guys think?

As much as I would like it to be true, I think their logic is more like "CEC are already there, no rush they can wait. Let's get all these new skilled people and get more tax payers quickly"

Hmm, I am not sure. I think it's just they didn't think through this in detail.

Hi All, I was going to say it's because CEC guys are already in the tax trap, and then decided to read previous comments. On point @jessy87. Really said, CEC is longer - and I can say this from experience as this is my 2nd attempt on CEC after returning my application based on a very minor mistake a kind visa officer would simply call/send email to verify.

Let's pray our respective countries get better in the next 10 years (or 30? hahahahaha), so we will have forums like africanvisa, asianvisa..... which all these CIC visa officers would be visiting every minutes like most of us have been doing for the past 7 years.

Anyway, for some people that this might be helpful to: I submitted my family application on Aug 22, passed medicals ~ 4 weeks or so and today got a request for my husband's biometrics collection (now in Canada but he was in USA when we both submitted our application, so I guess based on recent changes, all applicants outside Canada must provide fingerprints).

Was even advised to go outside Canada to do the fingerprints if already in Canada. Meaning if the home country is the only option, he must find ~2000 CAD - non refundable :-( to travel out simply because of biometrics :-( :-(

what got my attention is that your first CEC application was refused for a minor mistake, i hope you the best with your second one, JUST wondering what was the mistake, maybe others could learn?

Hi Advisor,

It has to do with the dates I entered in my profile as living in one of the countries I've lived. When filling the online form, I mistakenly entered wrong days of entry and leaving (month and year were correct) e.g. instead of 29 Nov 2007 to 30 Sept 2008, I entered 1 Nov 2007 to 1 Sept 2008 (note that the corrects dates were stamped in my previous passport pages which I scanned and included in my submission). However, police report states the correct dates. So the officer said my police report doesn't cover the date I said I lived in the country. This costs me over 18 months of waiting for another ITA, doing another English Test and medicals :-( . And I am not even the main applicant - spouse of the main applicant.
