I just phoned AIMS and spoke with someone called Gavi, who apparently is not a regulated consultant.

I asked how much they would charge me to apply for GCMS notes. They informed me they would charge $200 to apply for the notes, interpret the notes and provide me with the information I needed.

They. Are. Extorting. You.

Its outrages. I'm going to speak to the regulatory body and I'll give you the info you need to take this further.
Oo wow really!! They ripped me off!! Yes please can u let me know wat the lady tells you!!

Just WOW!! I would say that JSM has a point on this one....just make sure you have all the documents and receipts they provided. Anything and everything they gave you, all the communications, and the CIC decision letter.

If they are treating customers differently, without proper cause....so, charging different rates while providing same service....well, that should be addressed for more than just services standards and discrimination. Potential to lose their license!!!

1) If they have applied using an NOC that wasn't eligible for CIC, then you have extremely good grounds for a complaint. This is something they should most definitely have picked up in the process.
2) Their is nothing they can do re the charges that were applied, as it's not something they deal with. Sadly, these notes are free if you apply yourself, but companies providing this service can charge what they like. This doesn't mean that they haven't ripped you off though, they did.

Once you lodge a complaint, it will be reviewed and the process will begin. You need to fill out a complaints form: http://iccrc-crcic.ca/AboutUs/public/complaintsDiscipline.cfm

My suggestion would be to stop using this consultant. Either do the application yourself with the help of me, CEC, iamtoby and everyone else, or use someone who is trust worthy. I can send you details of who I used to represent me.

They aren't necessarily required to give you the money back but the person I spoke to suggested that they may decide to do so when the process begins. If not, you can take them through the small claims court to recoup your money assuming the complaint has merit and AIMS are found to be in the wrong.

Their ICCRC number can be found at the top right of the AIMS website, you will need this for your complaints form.

Completely agree with this! If you continue with them, its at your own risk....and no one guarantees that this round will be any better than the last. I say eat the costs and move forward.

I am willing to help and so are most of the forum members on here. If you have any questions related to the application process, feel free to post or pm us.

These people piss me off so much...I wish I was working for an enforcement public sector agency (instead of policy) so that I could pay them a visit. But since thats not an option right now, I want to help on here as much as I can.

Well, that's a choice you have to make.

If you proceed just make sure everything is covered. Let us see the reference letters you will be providing before submitting and that way we can at least provide you with the feedback you need. Please don't submit until we have at least had a chance to review on your behalf - I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to you again.

Right on the spot! It is your decision...

But I got back to my previous comments (in addition to what JSM said):

Good! And another thing I would do is set up meetings with her. Especially before she submits the new application. Tell her you want 2 hours or whatever you feel is enough to go over all the paperwork. Before you have that meeting, make sure you research every single detail about the requirements. And if you feel she has not addressed it, then hold the submission and have her fix that.

But yea, weekly meetings for 1 hour should do the trick. If she objects, again, just hammer it into her that she made the mistake and you cant afford another one. If she then says there wont be one....ask her if she can promise (verbal agreements are acceptable). She probably wont. Then use that as your argument.
And of course utilizing the help of forum members on here. We can certainly take a look and tell you what we think before you commit to anything.

What your contract states doesn't matter, CIC want to know how much you have actually worked so they can determine if you have worked the correct amount of hours to be eligible for CEC.

You also need to make sure that whatever you put on any paperwork this time doesn't change much from your last application - as they will have access to the application that was rejected. So if you are suddenly saying something totally different, their will be issues.

When i applied the 1st time i was working as a casual staff but i had collected enough hours for the application but in jan this year i was changed to part time bcoz someone retired.
