Yes . I believe you do need a BOWP even for a closed wp or else you don't have any status.
You can apply online.
Better wait till last moment , may be you might get PPR before that.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with CIC by telephone if you are not in Canada? As it's coming up to the 19 month deadline (as arbitrary as it is, and assuming they don't just push it back as soon as we get there) I want to get in touch and speak to someone, but the last time i tried a few months back (ha, remember when the processing time was just 15 months?!), the enquiries phone number wouldn't connect as I was outside the country.

Any ideas? Alternatively, do you think if my girlfriend were to phone on my behalf, who is a citizen and in Canada now, they would speak to her and actually tell her anything?

If you are calling from outside Canada, you should dial 613.944.4000 and enter 1-1-2 to be redirected to the CIC Call Centre. Prepare to wait on hold for some time. Try calling early in the morning.

I'll try that. Thanks! ;)

You don't need to. Let them process your paper application.

For a close work permit also We need to apply BOWP?

And if you can help me with the process which is online and when should i apply? expiry date 30th may

If she has a letter of her employer saying that her contract will be extended, then she needs to apply for a WP extension. BOWP if she doesn't have a job offer for the next term.

That's what I did for mine. I'm the principal applicant, got job offer renewed and applied for WP extension with the same employer.

PPR :- Do throw some light now .!!

Help Required :-

My wife is on close work permit in Canada and expiring on 30th may 2016

If we dont get our PPR Request till thn .What is the next procedure?

March 7th Paid RPRF. No news post that.In file its coming in process and nothing else

if you are waiting for PPR, then you can wait till say 29th May (one business day earlier to 30th may)
and then apply online.

Remember, you should hv valid resident status when u go for landing procedure or at least you should be in implied status
which means even though ur status as work permit has expired u hv applied to renew it or applied for bowp.
since if u dont hv valid resident status or even implied status that means u overstayed illegally and that might
be automatic grounds for rejection of PR. so better be safe ....
