When i called CIC and updated " That my MP office team gave me an update that CIC already sent DM letter to me. But i didn't receive any DM letter. As usual they asked me Start date of the application and said you have to wait till 18 months as we are unable to open your file. Not sure, whom to trust.

Try to call them multiple times during the week until you reach an agent who will assist you with your concerns. If they really sent you a letter, they need to check this. If the letter got lost in the mail and you did not react in time, they will blame it on you. They should really check if a letter was sent. This is important.

I am going to this place and they will send the documents directly. They are pretty good. Last year they sent my report in 2 days. You just have to go for fingerprinting.

For what it's worth, for those with medicals not yet done, I strongly discourage you from going to Dr. Margret Kroi-Szpakowski in Hamilton!!!!

I did my medical on March 11th, tomorrow makes 3 full weeks and I just called them to find out if they've uploaded my medical and I was told they are still awaiting blood work and that sometimes it can take this long. So upsetting.

And this doctor as well.

U can call RCMP direct to verify if your report has been released or not. If there is no record RCMP releases the report in 72 hours.

I guess canada post should only take 1 day to deliver ? as both places are located at the same city

Hey, did you get any additional document request like schedule A, pcc or travel history?

On March 08th, 2016, they asked me to submit scanned copies of new passports, that were valid for more than 6 months. The one I had submitted back in 2014 was expiring this upcoming May.

Then I sent the scanned copies on March 21st, because it took long to get the new passports from my country. So it took them two weeks to send me Ready for Visa after I sent the copies of the new passports (there was Easter holidays in between tho).

I didn't get any other requests for documents during the entire process. I did send the police certificates from my country last year. Not sure if they ever received them, they didn't say. I've lived in Canada ever since I got my temporary permit, in 2012.

Anyone has requested Hong Kong Police Certificate before? How long does it actually takes to reach Ottawa? How do you check if Ottawa receive it?

Another suggestion....There is no record of the phone calls that you make...do send an email and Case Specific Enquiry....That ways you have an evidence that you acted on time....

I believe CIC is now up and Working hard to get over the backlog.

I received the ready for visa email few minutes ago!

I want to know how long it takes to get the visa?
I am going to travel to my home country on April 23.
If I am sending the printed travel ticket and ask CIC for fast processing, is that fine?
