Just logged into myCIC account and saw that my BOWP was approved (submitted Feb 17). Given how quickly it was done, it makes me think my PR app will be approved soon, and that the WP was approved to avoid refunding my application fee.

Hello,
I had submitted my PR application on 16 Oct 2014 and recieved my AOR on 18 Feb 2015. After that the only correspondence has been related to the request for T4 and NOA.
Subsequently I applied for BOWP(2nd extension) on 18th Feb (paper application). Kindly confirm whether CIC is expediting the BOWP applications for everyone? According to the website the processing time is 114 days. I have to leave Canada on a mobility assignment by 1 June and was hoping I get the BOWP by then.
Thanks

Local office landing is only for applicants already in Canada. Some people do flag polling at the U.S./Canada borders to get the landing done earlier ( as no appointment is required at the border) you can compare these two scenarios only; in-office landing is definitely hassle free. Bringing Duty free and currency from ur home country to Canada is for those who are outside Canada and for them in office landing is not applicable.

I'm already in Canada on work-permit. I didn't bring any of my belongings to Canada as I'm in a studio aprartment. If I get PR, I would like to bring in my belongings and whatever cash I have in my home country, converting them to $. In that context, is it advisable to travel to home country and get back to Canada - as it helps me to bring in my stuff with no duty and convert my cash into CAD with no limits. If I do local office landing, thoiugh it is hassle free, I may not be in a position to bring in my stuff from home country without paying duty, nor the cash.

Hi all,

I received the fourth line on my ECAS - 'Medicals Received'. Please see my timelines below:

Application date: 14-Oct-2014
AOR date: 13-Feb-2015
MR date: 19-Mar-2016
Medicals Done: 22-Mar-2016
RPRF Paid (Upfront): 22-Mar-2016
ECAS Updated with line 'Medicals Received' - 03-Apr-2016

The wait has been long, but good to see progress being made. Hope to see the 'Decision Made' line soon. Good luck everyone!

Thanks!

I'm really worried now. We have done our medicals upfront last year and everything was updated I'm Ecas. But we have received no requests or anything from cic at all.
Applied October 9
AOR received 11 February 2015
Medical results received.

That's all our Ecas says. I just don't understand why we wouldn't have been given an rcmp request or any kind of request from them. When our mp got back to us, they said that the due date was April 4 meaning tomorrow but we have heard nothing.
