CEC October 2014 Applicants

All - i am 02 Oct applicant. I completed my upfront Medical Test on 03 Jul 15. I had renewed my Wife's passport as well and learned from my Friend that Doctor performing MEdical test has an option to update your Passport number which i did for my wife as well.

Once the test was over on 03 Jul 15, i waited until 08 Jul 15 to check with the Hospital if the results were uploaded to CIC in the form of an e-File. Post confirmation, i sent an email to CPC ottawa id intimating them on the Medical test completion and also my Wife's passport change. They responded exactly on 10 Jul 15 confirming the changes and status being updated and asking for a copy of my Wife's passport which i emailed them on 13 Jul 15.

I just checked my AOR e-mail and you're right. however I did send my occupation change to the office in Ottawa, Since I assumed my file is there now.

What you did was right. As I read in several posts that it will take a while before you hear back from them after sending an e-mail so don't worry.

I am working in Canada now.I am applying the BOWP for me and my wife.
My wife is in China now. We plan to apply a visitor visa for her as the PR is not avilable in few months.
My question is how my wife can get the BOWP.
If she came Canada before BOWP approval with only the visotor visa, how could we get her BOWP as she will in Canada at that time?
If she came Canada after the BOWP approval, Where can she get the BOWP from?
If she stay in China and wait for the BOWP, will CIC sent the BOWP to her by mail?

Question is when does your current WP expire ?

If you are currently in Canada on a valid work permit that is about to expire, am guessing you would need a BOWP to extend your stay as a worker until you get the PR.

Yes, you can get your wife here on a visitor visa but the validity can only be as long as the validity of your work permit if you want to get her as the spouse. You being the principal applicant(am assuming this in your case) will have to apply to extend your stay as a worker and mention that you are married and give the details for the spouse as well. The joint fees would be $510 for the two of you to get a BOWP. Online application made would take 98 days vs 104 for a paper based application.

I don't think they can send the BOWP to two different locations if you mention just one address on the application. You can always double check with CIC

I don't think it's a good idea now to apply for a visitor visa without the backup of BOWP. If you apply now as a general visitor application, visa officer will probably raise concern on your spouse's intend to stay in Canada. Since she applied for PR with you, visa officer will think she will come to Canada permanently. If your wife cannot show strong ties (job, home) in China and you two are living in two different places for some time, the visa would probably be refused.

It's better to wait for BOWP and then apply for TRV.

i don't think you can apply for your wife's BOWP, there is a condition for BOWP applicaiotn - yuo should be in Canada and your current WP is about to expire.

As per your post, it seems like your wife does not have a current status in Canada AND she is not even present in Canada.

I don't believe he meant that he is applying for BOWP for his wife, it should be a SOWP and BOWP is for him. Also, I don't think she needs to be in Canada for a SOWP. Correct me if am wrong

I would rather be a nuisance and know that everything is all in order then sit back and wait for things to go wrong and delay my application further.

So I think in future you should think about things you say before you "type" them.

So you've sent them your "upfront medical details", the latest being "the 3rd email I have sent them" (in your own words).
At what point does it cease to be "knowing that everything is in order" and starts being spamming, I wonder. :

I have a question: CIC asked me to do my medical check and also asked for some papers (like T4, notices of assessments, and a police check).
I should get my T4 today, then once I get them I need to contact Canada Revenue Agency to reassess my taxes as my boss screwed up big time (it's going to take a few weeks to be recognized as "employed" and no longer "self-employed", I will miss the deadline they gave me, I hope it will still be ok). I also have the proof that I asked for the police check in person in Toronto, they will receive it directly in a month or two (I will miss the deadline, again).

So my question is: would you recommend to send my T4 and a copy of my medicals by regular mail or by email? They did not say anything specific in the emails I received. And would it be ok if I explain them my situation, and ask for a tiny more time to get the papers?
