Ok, please dont blame me, I know it was kiddish on my part.
I request CEC long back probably in May to process my application in 13 month processing period. Thats what they replied

Good Day,

Thank you for your email.

Please note that, in all fairness to the other CEC applicants, your request to expedite the processing of your file cannot be granted as all applications are processed by order of receipt.

Thank you for your understanding,

Regards,

so i wonder how it works now :)

What did you think would happen by sending that letter? :'( What about all the other thousands of applications who never included such a mail?
Yours as well as theirs will all be process in the order they were received as mentioned in the letter.

and this is where i need a "face palm" smiley.

Good .. at least you tried .. I've been waiting for about 14 months for my application to be processed.
Recently the processing time for CEC was updated to 12 months on CIC website. So, my application has already exceeded the expected processing time. I am not sure if they actually process the applications in the order of the receipt date.
I have this strong urge in me to send a similar (to yours) e-mail to CIC. Just don't know how they will react.

CIC processes them in the order received, but you have to understand that every application is different, unique - they will take varying amounts of time to process.

Nice try :)

At least we all now know that a request for faster processing will be politely declined.

LOL :p I think we all saw this coming!

@ Gladaki

Mate, this is public service....they follow protocol and if they grant this once, then a slew of other requests will pile on. Everyone has a reason for wanting their file processed quicker. As for processing on time - there is no expectation. The published figures are not their goals, but rather the average processing time. This is calculated every quarter for the past years worth of applications. We may end up seeing this jump to 14 months next quarter due to the strike and summer slowdown. And to be fair, it should be in the order it was received.....but like we keep saying, every file is different and unique. :D

Why don't you speak with this company and try to get that offer of yours extended beyond NOV.

12 months isn't the "expected" time. 12 months is how long it took them to process 80% of all cases between July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. So it's really a statistic, not a deadline.

However, you are entitled to email them. On their website, they do say:

If it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied and your visa office has not contacted you, you may wish to contact the visa office that is processing your application by e-mail, letter or fax.

So you might as well.
