    October 2012 Applications

It's really quite easy. You find your MP here: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseofCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC Give them a call and schedule a visit. Show them everything, including GCMS notes...they'll have you sign some consent forms, then they'll get back to you...

    October 2012 Applications

Took close to 13 months for me to get my MR. MP and GCMS did nothing to accelerate/clarify what was going on. Stop trying to scare people.

Do I need to update my employment info if I just changed my company?

I emailed them when I joined a new company. I don't think it's necessary, but since my current employment is something they might come across in their security/background check via a simple crosscheck of my SIN number and my employment history, why risk looking like I have something to hide...

    NOC Code help!!!!

2211 (technician) seems more in line with your listed duties. If you have an HR person, ask them. Sometimes they'll be able to advise you on that. At the end of the day, just make sure your reference letter matches the NOC duties closely. This is vital.

Applied as cook getting promoted to Chef

Wait...I thought closed work permits allowed you to work for the company stated on the work permit, period. Does a closed WP also limit you to a specific job title?

Vacation out of Canada after week of applying BOWP

I don't see why you would be rejected...your current work visa is valid for as long as you are on vacation, correct? That's really all you need to travel. Still, I've been through hell and back at the Canadian border with VALID visas before...maybe it's because I'm Middle Eastern...but if I...

Applied as cook getting promoted to Chef

Yeah Toby pretty much covered all questions correctly. Congrats on the promotion! You make as much money as people with 4 year degrees...I'm happy for you but I'm sad for all of us who spent all that international tuition when we could've been chefs instead! And I love cooking dammit!

IELTS "Academic" for Language Test for CEC

It's all relative. Sure CELPIP might be easier than IELTS, but that just means more people do well in it. At the end of the day, your performance relative to other people (regardless of the exam) determines your score, not the ease of the exam and if you're bad, regardless of how easy the exam...
