    September 2012 Applications

Most people told me not to do upfront medicals. They might accelerate your application processing by a few days but at a steep cost...$300+ And that money's gone if you're rejected. So on a cost/benefit scale, upfront medicals don't make much sense.

Any one else in review status

He lives in Alberta, and it's not uncommon for companies to hire PRs or citizens. They can chalk it up to security concerns. I've been down that road...lost an opportunity with a very respectable oil and gas company because of that.

Today my file completed 1 year in file processing!!

lol at least you heard back something from them. Last time I heard anything from them was May 25 for an RCMP check. Every GCMS since then has been identical, so my file is sitting there somewhere...nothing we can do really. And there's plenty of us... Edit: Say, Esbex, your NOC suggests you're...

Does gender of principal applicant affect processing time?

Welcome to my world! Doesn't help that my country hasn't had a stable government in 3 years. Oh well...all these delays with my (and other people's) applications... I'm hedging my bets by tossing some grad school applications around. If I can't be here as a permanent resident, I'll stay here...

Does gender of principal applicant affect processing time?

Yeah, there are so many variables that affect processing times, I think it would be reckless to pigeonhole gender as the culprit. And that's without taking into account the fact that there's a strike going on lol
