Seems like july 22 going to come soon this week or next
Now, now, there are in-land people even BEFORE July 22nd waiting their turn. I hope EVERYONE from July get their PPR email soon.

That being said, perhaps @GandiBaat is right that those who didn’t get PPR despite earlier AORs are because their application turned out to be complex, regardless of their intentions…:(

It may sound ironic but IRCC is moving really really fast. It is opening applications without completing already opened applications. So those that do not need a deeper look or more thorough processing gets eCoPR fast. Those who do, get initial processing and then are stuck for someone to work on it or for some other agency to respond. It gets IRCC maximum number of application processed but people feel that a lot of applications are getting unfair advantage over them.

“people feel that a lot of applications are getting unfair advantage over them.”

Gee, I wonder why…

I feel like I can deal with unfairness in processing if they are at least transparent about it… but the reality is we don’t know why some applications are taking longer and we may never know.

I won’t be surprised if IRCC are just opening applications without being ready to complete or close the file just to claim that they are super busy doing as lots of applications as a PR (Public Relations, in this context) stunt or as an excuse to simply refuse to elaborate on their ACTUAL processing.

Thank you for sharing such insight into matter. Mind if I ask how did you even get this info? First time ever hearing it for me…

Typical time to process an application has been around 4-5 months in the past (ie 2019 2018). Its only recently that we are seeing these completion in 2-3 months kind of trend. I think IRCC is going for low hanging fruits. My lawyer (who is a a former professor at UBC and has consulted IRCC a number of times) has an opinion that IRCC recently deployed some kind of software to sift through applications which are less complex. The applications pre-processed by the software make it through the process faster.
But all of these are rumors. What is known is that a decent number of applications are making through the process really fast (as in 45 - 60 days fast). Its obvious that they were not complex enough.

Completely agree. We dont mind waiting as long as they are transparent about the process. Realtime updates on your profile would be great or atleast status update through the phone. Because right now, we are just assuming things and really dont know for sure what's going on or why it's on hold. Basically our lives are on hold until the decision has been made on application.

I had a query regarding the entire process timeline. If anyone can answer that, it would be really grateful.

As far as I understand, below is the process followed till the final decision is made:

1: Medical
2: Background- part 1 ( security, info sharing)
3: Eligibility
4: Background - part 2 ( criminality)
5: Final decision.

Am I correct?

Any idea, after background part 1 has been completed, how much time it takes to complete eligibility and background part-2?
