The short answer is NO, when you are work permit expires you cant work, however you can apply a BOWP and that makes you implied status. If you receive PR before your BOWP processed you can call IRCC and cancel the BOWP that makes you eligible for a refund of BOWP fee paid. Hope this helps.Neo_says said:Hello Team,
My WP got expired on 7th and I applied on *th and application got rejected.
But, My PR application already in process.
Question : Can I work till the time decession is made on my PR application ?

What? You are trying to say that merely having a PR application in progress gets you implied status? despite your WP extension being refused already? Where is that written? Look before you leap. I dont know the full details of actual question, but it is certainly this post that appears wrong.RockCan said:Buddy why you are misguiding someone when you don't know the answer.????????
Certainly he can work until the decision is made on his application, The period between WP expiry to application refusal date counted as an implied status...!!! so he can work legally, plus he can count that period towards his work experience too...!!
@RockCan - I fall into exact situation as him I called CIC yesterday discussed with an workpermit specialist agent more than 30 minutes requesting to explain, On workpermit and applied for PR doesn't give implied status there has to be a BOWP and he specifically mention when workpermit expires one becomes out of status for work and should STOP working. We all believe IRCC's response is the best and you can verify that too.RockCan said:Buddy why you are misguiding someone when you don't know the answer.????????

True that @fkl, people gets offended when they hear what they don't want to hear.fkl said:What? Update:
The only thing that gets one an implied status is having applied for WP extension BEFORE the expiry of current one until a decision is made on that WP APP. If that expiry has passed, now you have to apply for restoration of status and you cannot continue to work during this time. This is irrespective of having a PR in process already.
Congratulations!!! Your timeline is 3 weeks ahead of mine, I am hoping the same happening to me soonboblee2000 said:CEC Inland

You can apply for their extensions before their current permit's expiry. Since they have a PR application in process already, that is their eligibility criteria. Your wife would get a BOWP and child would get resident TRV if less than 6 years old. Ideally you should apply now because its like 20 days left.CECPR_2016 said:Friends Please help with your input.
I am a CEC - Inland(with LMIA) candidate, applied for PR on MAR 07,2016. I am currently on work permit. Our issue is like, my wife's visa and open work permit along with my daughter's visa expires on Sept.. 11, 2016. My PR application is 'BG in progress' from last July 28,2016. When will i need to apply for their extension of visa ? Can i apply to extend Temp. visa for maintaining status?.
Note : I have my Work permit till next Jan, 2017. But no idea why visa officer has stamped them only till Sept. 2016. Generally they used to give till primary applicant visa.
What to do?
