Hi All,
I have a doubt with related to my Background check status changes:
28 Feb : Background Check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information
9 May : Background Check : Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your back ground check
24 May : They asked to update my current address. Reason that the addresses maintained in their system are not current. Address details submitted on 25th.
29 May : Background Check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information
& Review of additional document is pending

Seems like my Background check status has shifted to the initial status. No Idea.... Anyone faced same situation?

Something similar did happen in my case, though it didn't involve any ADR.

When I submitted my application on Feb 18, the default status in GCKey for BGC said:
Background Check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information

Then on April 03rd, when my eligibility step was completed and only BGC was left, the status in GCKey again changed to:
Background Check : Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your back ground check

After April 03rd, I had to wait almost two months for my BGC to get completed and the text to change again in GCKey. During these weeks I called IRCC several times and always got the same response, that info sharing was done but criminality and security hadn't even been started by CBSA and CSIS. After May 12th, very depressed I just stopped following up with them and left it to happen on its own. Then on May 26th I got the portal email 1 and saw the text on GCKey was updated to:
Background Check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information

And then on May 29th, BGC was marked completed in the tracker, COPR number and expiry date were populated but GCKey still has the same sentence.

Yeah mine went from COMPLETE to In Progress on the 18th of May... just waiting patiently now.

Very weird indeed.

That didn't happen for me. Even I used old medicals from 2021.

How is this possible? This was so quick ... I believe I have one of the simplest of applications as I have zero travel history and yet my background check is in progress for months ... anyway, congratssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I believe you are just round the corner for portal email as well!

Anyway I wish you good luck!

My case is similar to you and I received the portal 1 email last Friday.
No travel to any country, job in only one company throughout, and very few address changes.

Yeah I hope everybody gets the awaited email soon.

On another question, yes, I have called IRCC a ton of times. In total about 6-7 times. Mostly during April and early May. It took almost 2 months for my background check to be completed. For several days, the security check and the criminality check hadn't even been started by CBSA and CSIS, even when every other pre-requisite step till that point was complete, including the information sharing. I called them last on 12th May and didn't see any change in my status. I even ordered GCMS notes, not that it will be much help now. After that I just felt depressed at it so I left it and decided to not think much about it. And indeed on 26th May I suddenly had the portal email and on 29th May everything was updated in tracker.

I know it's so frustrating to wait.

I called IRCC agent and they told everything passed /approved/ completed. COPR number is available in tracker from March 2023.

Final Decision is pending and my file is in Edmonton.

I am scared about my future.
Please clarify that everything above is good sign !!?
