Thanks Raj, but what does that mean?
If your pr application is in process and you have applied for bowp you will be considered on implied status. You are legally entitled to stay in Canada until your application is finalized. I f you do not apply for bowp and your wp expires, You will lose your legal status. For more information go to cic website for more information. On implied status you are not covered for Ohip, if you stay in Ontario. Once you get your bowp you can apply for OHIP.

Hi Ppl,

Need some advise. I am currently waiting for my Passport Request ( online status is still In Progress) .
I need to visit my home country in August for 5 weeks and currently have a Valid BOWP till May 2017. I didnt apply for a Visa as i was expecting the PR passport request in which case i would get a single entry Visa which i could use when i return back to canada.
So had a couple of questions?
1) Should i apply for a TRV? Any idea what the current processing times are?
2) If Passport request comes when i am in my home country, can i submit my passports in the Home Country Embassy?

1) Should i apply for a TRV? Any idea what the current processing times are?
I guess it is better to apply for TRV just to have a backup incase you do not get OR by then.

2) If Passport request comes when i am in my home country, can i submit my passports in the Home Country Embassy?
Yes you can request a change of visa stamping office which usually adds 3-4 weeks of processing time.

Thank You for replying. Will wait for atleast a month before my departure date before applying for TRV for Me+Spouse (which will cost me 200$).

If changing the visa stamping office would take 3-4 weeks then wont make sense to change it as i will be returning back in 5 weeks. I guess it would be better if i tell CIC Ottawa for an extension for Passport sending deadline so i can can send it over once i am back from my home country.

We decided to do it today, before the weekend travelers rush the borders. So we officially landed as of today.
American Site easy as pie, and friendly, Canadian Border, i mean sorry, i dont want a kiss on the cheeks or so, but to be pointed at with two fingers and called over with: You two over there, come here.
Really????

For most people it's the other way around.

Hi Guys

Please help to verify address to send my HK Police Cert. HK Police had sent it on 8th April but
CIC says they have still not received it so I am requesting them to resend!!!

Case Processing Centre-Ottawa
219 Laurier Avenue West,
7/F Section B ,
Ottawa on K1A 1L1

Your quick confirmation will help me a lot since CIC has given me only until 14th July to receive it.
