Hello folks...

I'm August 18 applicant still waiting for MR. I have a question. I worked for really small company (still working, 6-7 employees), and company doesn't have its own website. Is it possible CIC can try to find and verify the company on google? If yes, Please suggest me what I should do in this case.
I will appreciate your valuable time for giving any suggestion. Thank you....

They usually search on internet about the organization. If there is no website for it they must have details on yellow pages or other listing pages on the internet. Even if the VO is not satisfied than they will call the employer or your supervisor to check it out.
On the other hand when you have given your T4 they already have all the information about the company from CRA. so its nothing to worry about.

The company should be registered on the labour market somewhere. You also receive Tax Slips, so they should be registered somewhere.

As previously stated PCC is Police Clearance Certificates requested for every country you lived more than 6 months other than Canada.

RCMP and fingerprints COULD be requested at CIC discretion.

Some friend was requested for due his last name was too long for Canadian standards so could be improperly recorded in RCMP records so need fingerprints to full clearance

As far I understand CIC is in touch with RCMP for standard police clearance, when something looks weird CIC is requesting RCMP fingerprints.

I agree, RCMP is requested depending on individual case.

I have not been asked for one yet.

Hi Hanul,

It better to renew your passport before you send it.

once renewed send an email to CIC including the copy of original passport and copy or renewal page/ New passport.

in case you get a new passport, attach it to the old passport and send both when CIC Requests it.

Again make sure you email CIC, so they know to expect the renewal doc. either new passport or renewal page

Thanks for the info everyone... but for renewing a passport here in Canada, i need to have a work permit. But I haven't yet received my BOWP because of 120 days of processing time. I should probably get the work permit in another 20 days or so. And then only I could request for passport renewal at BLS International. It is a pretty tricky situation.

I am residing in canada and my PR application is being processed in Canada, I am August 15, 2014 applicant I yet to get my MR...

In the meantime, I want to know if one requires a US visa in order to complete the landing formality from US border(say from Niagara). If at all its required then I can apply for the US visa while waiting my MR.

You can do landing without US visa but when you will cross the bridge the US immigration people will give refusal to entry letter (which does not have any effect on your future US visa application).

also you can do inland landing at CIC offices for which you have to book an appointment.

Thank you for the quick response.

I have another question that, after getting the PR status, can we travel outside canada before getting the PR card? Is there any such option available? Though this question is too early for me how ever I see that I will end up in that situation by looking at the delay in PR processing. Thanks a lot for your help.

I received my MR now also. I emailed CIC and they replied saying that I should have received my MR on Tuesday with my husband's.

Interestingly they didn't send me the attachment, just all of the information in the email body. The instructions say I just need to take my IME and UCI to the doctor appointment.
