The irony is when we call up for political intervention they avoid stating that , it cannot involve in immigration matters while same does not apply to Syrian refugees where there cases are resolved in 2 months and happy to live with Status in Canada.

Very fact that many people in Express entry's documents are uploaded and donno what level of scrutiny is done in entire process of 6 months including landing on them, on the contrary , CEC people have given all by hard copies.....Why all of sudden the security and criminality is like taking ages? Its juz to keep them in Shelf and have a reason stating it to be security.
I know a case of newly born kid in different country with both parents being PR with all the perfect documentation is stopped for ages like 10 months or more for criminality!!!:) what would that small kid do?

I agree, Every immigration system has flaws....no system can be perfect, like in USA one cannot expect green card in EB2/3 with in 2 yrs , every kid knows it would take on an average of 6-8 yrs!! and no expectations etc....but here in our case......11 months is DISPLAYED Date....and again stated 80% of cases finalizing etc...but one can sense only 20 % is only completed and 80% are still waiting...!!!.....
increasing the timeline so frequently with reasons like Holidays....ALL NEW EE system..ALL NEW SYRIAN REFUGEES.......OLD and boring CEC LEFT Over kind of treatment is hurting.........

If right intent is kept, all the pending applications would finish off in a month!!!!......but instead they are treating old CEC as a CRAP!!!......making a mockery of us by revising the timelines in timespan of juz week to increase by a month!!!!........

Coolcancanada, you exactly pointed out the issue.

CIC is handled by politicians that are using it to get consent from their voters. The Conservatives introduced the Express Entry with the main purpose to reduce the eligibility due to the points requirements. In fact it's quite difficult for professionals that lives abroad to find a company available to sponsor them facing significant costs and uncertainess of the final result. Typically a company that is looking for a professional need him immediately and doesn't want to wait few months with the risk to see the application rejected. If you take a look the number of people that came to Canada through the Express Entry it's ridiculous compared to the number of immigrants that Canada use to receive on yearly bases (approx 250,000/year). The primary intent of the Express Entry introduced by the Conservatives was to create a "politically correct" filter to the immigration. They saved their face claiming that they introduced a faster immigration stream but they were well aware that EE would have resulted in a strict filter.

On the other hand Liberals focused their attention on the siren refugees. I believe that they deserve all attention and respect for what they faced and they need to be prioritized, but on the other hand as CIC is able to process 25,000 refugees in 2-3 months, they should be able to finalize our process right after in the same period of time.

I'm concerned that we're considered as political casualties because our situation is not interesting for any canadian voter (conservative or liberal).

In a nutshell.....we don't move votes.

I still remain confident that our time will come, but all this time is affecting our plans and lives.

P.S. I moved savings from my original country to Canada because I was planning to start my own Company, everything is ready but this delay is preventing me to invest in Canada and generate future jobs.

Nice work CIC.

OMG! I just for MR for my husband!!

I am the principal applicant and don't have one for me yet, it just came through for him!

This is the first I've heard from CIC since getting AOR in November 2014.
Amidst all the negativity, a slight ray of hope !! Congrats Joolery.

I noticed a new help button on the processing time screen just above where it says months. It says:

Many more people want to immigrate to Canada than the Government of Canada can bring in each year under our annual immigration plan. Applications received after the maximum has been met may have to wait longer to be processed.

This is outrageous because when we applied we were inside the cap and now when they are finalizing EE applications in 5 months and calling 10000 refugees in two months our applications have been deferred.

the point is, they never hear anything from anyone , they only announce their new smartest decision again and again.

oh. except there is another Syrian refugee news to beat them. ( I am sorry to site this example , feel deep sorry for Alan ) but it is truth . CIC is very arrogant.

Hi Everyone,

I am an August 15th, 2014 applicant and have been waiting to hear back from CIC after my AOR on 4th December, 2014.
I had a question regarding the passport, a copy of which was supplied at the time of application.

My passport is set to expire in June this year and I wondering that once I renew my (Indian) passport from the embassy here, the passport number gets changed.

Can anyone advise me how this situation will be handled? CIC currently has the information about my current passport and once I have a new one, I suppose I will have to use the new passport when the passport request comes from CIC as my current passport will not be valid for 6 months at that time. But CIC does/will not have the details of my new passport.

It would be great to hear out some possible solutions from others here.

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Hanul

They will request a copy of your new passport. At least that's what they did for my boyfriend when he renewed his last March...

Just scan your passport and send them the copy via email. I did this last year and later asked, if they received it. Yes, they did. Everything's fine. It would not hurt to include a copy of your old passport with this email, as well, so that they can properly connect it with your application.
