Hi Everyone,

Need Help!

We have received PCC request, and we have been asked to provide originals and send them by email.
how do we provide originals in email?

I know many of you have received PCC request lately, how do you send them to CIC?

This is the request I received :
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate. Please provide a police clearance certificate from India. For more detailed instructions please consult the following link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/india.asp

You must send us the requested information by email within 60 days from the date of this letter.

Please reply directly to this email and put your application number in the title.

Please note:
• Any documents submitted which are not in English or French must be accompanied by a translation in either English or French.
• Do not submit originals, unless otherwise stated, as documents submitted will not be returned.

Did u get a different email where they've asked for originals

send the documents requested to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

provide your file number in the title

in your email mention for UCI#, full name, date of birth, place of birth, address, email and phone number

That is where CIC confuses you, You will need to mail in the original copy to Ottawa and you can let them know by email that you have mailed them a hard copy of the PCC

Sending them an email with the scanned copy does not count as original per my knowledge

I have already submitted PCC with my initial application for CIC - will this be requested again like what other people experience with RCMP request? Or is this only requested once?

Yes after MR, but these are other than our home country, we had not provided this one with our application.

Thanks, but they say send requested information by email. I am wondering so many people receive PCC request, it will be good to know how are people sending PCC to CIC.

I hear you. The email is confusing , but having done this twice already I can bet my wager that if you send them the scanned original PCC. They will take another month to respond back to you saying that will need the original mailed to them as a "HARD COPY". Email will not be considered

Hello all, does "Background check" apply to Security or Criminality from GCMS notes. I recently hung up the phone and call center agent told me our background checks continue and they will communicate with me to ask further documents and also they have started the eligibility assessment as well..
my last GCMS note was saying only the criminality has started.. I have 3 weeks more to receive new GCMS notes, so I just want to understand what kind of progress did they make on my file?

Yes, background check means security, criminality, HRIV and medicals (as per CIC glossary).

I think I will get PCC request any time soon from what I have understood from earlier messages and what call center agent told me 10 minutes ago..

I have a quick question:

The telephone number and email address is same in both MRs(myself and my wife). I am the principal applicant and there's my email and phone number on both forms. Is this an issue, all other data is correct. Should I be contacting CIC to correct it?

This should not be a problem.
