No, AOR means that your application is COMPLETE and they can start your admissibility ... ( all paper have been signed, included ect ... ).

MR means your eligibility ( admissibility ) has been passed


( if your application is refused, it will be 99% of the time before MR, unless you have a medical, criminal, or security issue, which is rare )

Hey guys is there any advantage to using MyCIC? I logged into it to see if there was any additional information on my PR but it was basically an empty file, I normally use the check my status link on the CIC website with my UCI number, so should I have a MyCIC account and is there any advantage to having one?

It has nothing to do with paper based applications sent before January 2015. (Correct me if I am wrong). However, you might still use ur MyCIC account to make BOWP application or create your Express Entry profile..

Hey All,


I have seen some people are confused with the

Eligibility, Background, Security, and Criminality Check.

Eligibility is passed when the AOR is issued that is we are eligible to apply based on what we have provided,

then in parallel they examine our details as well as the conduct the Background, Security, and Criminality

as per the one of the CIC agents, they can ask for medical any time even if the Background, Security, and Criminality checks are not yet complete.

when I received my MR I called to ask for an update, at that point none of the up mentioned checks was competed,

I Aslo suggest not to do the medical unless requested, it will more accurate for CIC that they receive the most up to date health conditions when they need it.

it takes 2 weeks max 3, but at least they know its very recent. that they know about your health last week not a a couple of months or year ago.

This whole BOWP thing is confusing now. I applied early September. Sure their processing times say Sep 3 right now, which means, they have not reached my application, yet. But I applied for my second BOWP, and I don't see any reason why I should not get it. Hoping for the best for all. My PR application has not moved, as well, and I did my MR upfront, so I don't know what the status is. Before, all you needed was your AOR, which gave me my first BOWP.

my answer is yesm the only thing you need to apply for BOWP is AOR, this is the eligibility for the old program. and that's how I applied and got mine BOWP,

what you see on the website is the updated rules for the EE, as our procedure has been discontinued so there is no need to have the BOWP rules for us on line

I sent my BOWP applied one month before my open work permit expires,
they say 4 month before because it takes 4month to process the application
but it does not matter, as u can stay in the country under implied status as long as u apply for bowp and cic received your application before your current status expires

Hey my open work permit expires in July 2016 and I have been working for three year with my current employer now. But For some reason and better opportunity I wanted to change the company but the only problem I am facing is that having just 4-5 month on work permit. How can I apply for new open work permit? I am an Oct2014 applicant.

you don't have to apply for a NEW one ,you can apply for BOWP with you can work any where you want. you might not need to get new BOWP depends on what stage your PR Application is


you need application form and checklist,
copy of current work permit,
copy or AOR
receipt that you paid the 255 fee
copy of passport

As far as I know you can only extend a closed work permit with an LMO. If you have a post grad work permit then unfortunately you can't extend it; although that completely contradicts the information printed on the reverse side of my post grad work permit but regardless, you can not extend a post grad work permit. instead you have to apply for a bridging visa BOWP . ( what Teb said )

Hello,

So i decided to randomly check my application status and noticed message saying that i have been sent a correspondance on Jan 13th. Nothing was received in the mail. After contacting them through email (yes i actually got a response which i thought was a nice surprise) CPC-CTD-OTTAWA has said this :

On January 13, 2016 you were requested to provide a copy of an original police clearance certificate from Trinidad and Tobago.
Please follow the link provided to see additional details:
You have 30 days from the date of this email to provide us with the document. In case an extension is required, please provide us with the proof that you have applied to obtain the requested documents.

So i sent an email back asking where the heck do i send the certificate to and what else would be needed. There was an automated repsonse of directing all enquiries to the toll free number within canada or the case specific enquiries. I called the number today and got through to someone, as usual the guy on the line gave me generic inforamtion and in fact wrong information, saying that i needed to check myCIC account for messages and upload the document there. I checked and found absolutely nothing.

I'm running in circles here guys, i have the police report but no clue what to do with it now. PLEASE HELP!

Hi I have Post grad work permit and its open.
So now all I need to get BOWP, which will be open as I can work with any one. And I have AOR as my file is still in processing status.

I have heared nothing after my AOR. I was confused as few of my friend told me that if you apply BOWP you will get for the employer where you are working rite now. So it will be closed. But thanks for the link.
