My boyfriend is an external CEC applicant - AOR: Sep 8. He previously got an email asking him to provide his residential address and that's it. Not sure if that means they're processing his case? What's next? Asking him for photos to prepare for the CoPR? But is it true that even if you get the paper you can't land right now? Is there any exceptions, say if he gets a job offer proving that he'll be living in Canada permanently ?

Any new update for today or any one who has the security completed under september2020 AOR

Hey guys,

I called IRCC for the first time today:

AOR: Sep 3 2020
Visa Office: CPC Ottawa
Eligibility: Recommend Pass
Criminality/Security & Background check: Passed, not started

Not sure what is Passed, not started means. They said Security and Background is together. Any thoughts?

So criminality is passed and security is not started.

Thanks chakrat
Whats is the difference between the two?
As per google.

Criminality check: Your police certificate, RCMP, and Interpol being asked if you've committed crimes. Security check: Asking CSIS and their allies if they believe you're involved with extremists, terrorists

Cristal clear, thanks :)
Which means now I don't have to worry about them asking for RCMP since I hadn't provided or the chances of requesting RCMP is very slim.

Probably, do you think its a good idea to seek GCMS notes via CBSA than IRCC at this point? I have not requested any yet. Would like to hear from you guys.
