I'm writing this to update you on the case - we sent the application on Monday and the application has already been processed and will be returned to the VFS later today. My lawyer will pick the documents up tomorrow afternoon, and we will know the result.
The CIC website states 9 days for the processing time, but it was processed in just under 48 hours. Is this a good or bad sign?

Final update: The passport arrived at the VFS office sooner than expected so my lawyer went to pick it up and informed me that we were granted a 4-year multiple entry visa. Thanks for everyone who helped me prepare a correct application!
