The numbers on the CIC web site only reflect applications that CIC has already opened and accepted for processing. Right now they are still opening applications from the end of May. So if over 600 applications for 2174 were received in May alone - then this NOC has most certainly capped by now.

Its an 'estimate' based on the last date of the CC Charges as reported by the forum members.

You can also refer the forum's FSW Spreadsheet for an 'estimated analysis'.

Our application is still on the way, but we realized a mistake:

On "Schedule 3: Economic Classes [IMM 0008]", for the language proficiency of the spouse, which is me, my husband checked "yes" for whether the spouse is fluent in English, then he wrote it after that box: "but with no IELTS result because it expired". I took IELTS like years ago and got 8 but it expired already.

Are they going to return our whole applicationbecause we didn't attach my IELTS result (because they consider our application NOT COMPLETE) ??? Is this a huge mistake????? What should we do now? Should I take IELTS now??

on the main FSW 2014 thread, a valuable member (forum name - ToCanadawithLove - unfortunately he got his file returned) has posted "Reason of Returns Letter" written by CIC to him. he has uploaded the whole letter.

This is the checklist which CIC use to verify whether our applications are complete or not (when they receive our applications at CIO -NOVA SCOTIA)​

so i request to you (everyone) who is going to apply, please read this document carefully and make sure you do not make any mistake which is listed.

i almost agree with happy upto 70% because he has all the data to prove his point. And we all know that data plays a vital role in almost every aspect of our life.

however i only agree 30% with ksa0510 because he is proving his point on the base of previous experience and we cannot deny the value of experience in our day to day activities.


so you are the better judge of your life and career, if your profile does not fit under any other application it is worth taking a chance ... if your profile can fit under some other category please go for that asap before that reaches cap as well.

Lolz!! The CIO adds more or less 100 applications per week to this NOC. This is quite random!!

Look at how CIC has updated (added) application numbers for 2174 on their Cap page we are talking about-

that's allmost 12 weeks, making an average 33 application CIC is adding Per week for this NOC!! Also observe Average for different weeks, it's sometimes only 1 app per week!!

So pls understand it also depends on the number of applications received!! If that drops, number of apps on CIC cap page will also increase slowly!! It can not be 100 for next 6 weeks!! Lolz!! It's clear & obvious that number of applications reaching CIC dropped substantial after mid of May, so the game will be played for longer.... the average drops!!

my dear friend. applications filing under a particular noc will never come down as you think. Its always follows linear progression. look at the 2013 ss. none of the application filed under any particular noc never came down as you said. it always go high and high. the number you given above from cic website showing some point of time the application is low but in fact its not real. its better you can take the over all growth percent by partitioning the total time into 3 intervals then you will understand what i am saying. only the over all cap had came down with time, the reason for this is the hot nocs are filled so the applications are only getting filed under less hot ones. so there is no point to apply under 2174 this time. it will be wasting of time and money. however, the applicants can find any other similar nocs where their job descriptions matching atleast 60-70% and file under that than throwing stones on a mango tree that dont have any mango. I agree only 90% with ksa0510 this is because applicants still have chance to file under similar nocs if any because for canada immigration job descriptions over rule the job title no need to wait till express entry.

2171 is already 233 in 30 days after the cap opened. So from May 30th to October 7th (lets imagine your application reach CIC on October 7th) there is a gap of 130 days. The NOCs are following linear progression so the chance of getting into the cap under the same is really not much however you can still have a try if you dont have a choice. Another alternative is find another less hot NOC in the list where your job description is matching and file under that.

Standard post thats the airmail from WES to India takes nearly 7-10 days to arrive.

Spouse IELTS is not mandatory unless you need the points to qualify.

You should be okay otherwise.

Thanks for the analyse, My designation is soft ware engineer, and Can I apply under 2172 by taking responsibilities from my senior colleague on a plain paper and with his business card attached.
I will attach service letter from HR along with that.
