Can't upload a valid IMM5708 to extend my visa

Hi,

I have a working holiday visa valid from 20.05.2014-20.05.2015 and I would like to extend my stay but change my visa status from working holiday to tourist. Because as a German citizen I should be able to stay as a tourist, if I can prove to pay my expenses.

So I applied to extend my stay.
But my problem, I can't upload document IMM5708E (Version 06/2014)

I tried it with Fire Fox and got an error message "You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Error description Document is not a valid .pdf"

I also tried it with Internet Explorer and got a little bit more information.

"You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Error description Your status epiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form."

The question in IMM5708E is - I am applying for one or more of the following:
1 extension of my temporary resident status
2 restoration of temporary status as a visitor
3 initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit

Is it correct to choos number 1, because I will stay longer as a visitor not as a worker.

There are two questions which could be the problem.
How long my visa is valid, I answered "from 20.05.2014 to 20.05.2015'
The other one how long you plan to stay in Canada and I answered, because I would like to stay longer 'from 20.05.2015 to 30.09.2015'.

But if I upload the document I get the error above. What I don´t understand is why the error sad my document isn´t valid.
I can see that it is valid in the right upper corner and I have the last page with the barcode.

I also tried to answer my planned stay in Canada with my completed stay from 20.05.2014 to 30.09.2015, but I am only allowed to take a date from today or in the future.

I hope someone can help me or even give me an advice who could.

The error refers to the data you provided in the form you are trying to upload and the data that your application has (usually filled in when the checklist was generated). For example, if in the application you are stating your status expires in 2015/01 and in the form you put 2015/02. Review that the answers in both places match.

The online application has one set of data.

The form IMM5708E has another set of data.

Both should match.

What do you mean with my online application has one set of data? Where can I see or find this set?
And the form IMM5708E has another set of date?
I understand that they should match but I don´t know about what kind of data we are talking?

The online application was created within a wizard. The wizard was fed with one set of information. The wizard gave you a checklist. The checklist has IMM5708.

The info in the online application should match with the IMM5708.

If you still don't get it look into forum for other users that had the same problem. This has been asked and solved quite a few times.

I gave the same information! There is no difference between the answers I gave to see my application checklist and the answers in from IMMM5708E. And I searched in this forum it is not that I want you to do my work if you thing that, but I tried everything I could change in this application.

Anyway... first of all let's analyze the message:

"You have not completed the mandatory fields or you have not completed them correctly. Error description Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form."

- Why is the system saying you want to restore a status? Restoration is only for people without a status at the moment that the application is submitted. You want to extend your visit. Verify that everything says "extend" instead of "restore". Verify this matches in both the online application and the IMM.


The dates of your application are wrong:
How long my visa is valid, I answered "from 20.05.2014 to 20.05.2015'
The other one how long you plan to stay in Canada and I answered, because I would like to stay longer 'from 20.05.2015 to 30.09.2015'.

On 20.05.2015 you still have status and if given then you would have two status on that date. This makes no sense. the new status starts the day AFTER your previous status expires (unless CIC says otherwise).

I changed it to answer number 1 that I want to extend my status.

And changed the dates also.

Valid visa from 2014-05-20 to 2015-05-20
Plan to stay in Canada 2015-05-21 tp 2015-09-30

And now guess what happened.... The same, my document is not valid. But if I validade my document I have the barcode and I don´t get a message that I have to change something. Only if I upload it I get this error from my first posting.

That cant be normal.

And now you are out of answers I guess?

EDIT:

Yesterday I tried it with Internet Explorer and some minutes ago I gave it a try again. I don´t know why it worked now and yesterday not, because I changed nothing.

Thank you very much for you support Jalex23! Maybe it was the problem with the date, but why it is only possible to upload with Internet Explorer.....

One last question about my Passport. I have a scann of my passport with all the information and I also scanned my work permit. But there is a stamp behind my permit. I haven´t scanned this little thing because I have to rip my permit out of my passport and I don´t want that. Would I get problems, if the little stamp isn´t scanned?

Thank you very much for you support Jalex23! Maybe it was the problem with the date, but why it is only possible to upload with Internet Explorer.....

If I am not mistaken myCIC is optimized for IE. (I can't remember where I read it).

Ok if the missing stamp isn´t a problem I only have to pay my fees and hope that I am allowed to stay some month longer and have another awesome summer here in Canadas nature.
