now that i sent my app and they received it...wat shud be next?
and if they do call for interview..they wud take my interview or my wife?
and the other thing i wanted to knw was...if i go see her..wud that affect out app? if i can go, how long can i stay with her?

We have a love marriage. I can understand you being scared. I think just about everyone on here has had to deal with being afraid and second guessing ourselves. THinking we didnt send enough proof and we worry and worry until we get first stage approval, then we worry and worry if there will be an interview and it goes on and on until you get the visa in your hands.

I am older than my husband and I have been divorced. I am 45 he is 34 so we had a few reasons that an interview would be certain. We were expecting an interview but we were not expecting a terrible officer to do the interview. We had lots of proof and we both believed that if another officer would have interviewed us my husband would have had the visa last year. Your marriage was arranged but you love her, you have expressed that in your posts. I think you should just relax and if you are called for an interview dont worry about it just get yourself prepared to prove your relationship is genuine. Since arranged marriages is a part of Indian culture I think that is taken into consideration. Your age difference shouldnt be a big deal its not a huge gap. The officer didnt say much about our age difference she was more concerned why my husband had to marry a white woman. lol.

You wait. They will send you a letter stating you have been approved as a sponsor, then (maybe) another letter from New Delhi stating they have received the application.

Your wife. They interview the applicant. Occasionally they will phone the sponsor, or, if the sponsor happens to be there, will also call him in for an interview.

Visits to see your spouse are good proof that the marriage is genuine. If you do go see her, keep all evidence of the trip and take lots of photos together. She can show this at the interview. You can stay as long as you want, since you are a Canadian citizen; just make sure that the visa officer doesn't think you've moved to India and will not be returning to Canada, in which case the visa will be refused. That is, either 1. visit her, then go back to Canada; or 2. stay with her, but then you will have to provide proof you will be moving back to Canada when she gets her PR visa. I think it is better to just visit, personally.

We didnt get a letter saying they received our file in delhi, what we saw it on ecas that they opened our file. We only got a letter from delhi for the interview and for additional documents since i am divorced they wanted my petition and judgement but I didnt get that my husband did. If they waive the interview then they will send a letter asking for her passport or whatever they need. Not sure on that part since I went through appeal.

yes I agree totally with canadianwoman, going there is additional proof that you have an on going relationship, just save everything and if you and her travelled together by train then use that also, hotels if you stay in one and if you can take additional pictures thats great also. She can show these things at the interview IF she is called for one.

That is not possible. It will take at least a month for you to get approval for first stage at Miss office. then it will take a couple of weeks to get to Delhi. It will be another couple of weeks before they open your file. then once they open your file it will be about another couple of weeks and they will descide if an interview is needed, if they require interview they will give you a date for about a month or so later. If they wiave the interview it will go faster. Once they request the passport some have said 30 days to get it back some have gotten in it 2 weeks. So from start to finish depending on your case and if interview is need no more than 4-6 months and its over. Thats not really that long. Its hard to be with our your spouse but its better than years as some of us has had to go through. If I have learned one thing about this process is that extreme patience is needed because the waiting will drive you crazy. lol

i just remember sumthing..
in payment receipt, i put my name as client name and i put my OLD ID number from my lending paper where they ask for ID NUMBER.
now i am thinking..they wuydnt want to knw my ID number from my lending..wud they?
oh my god...
are they going to return my app?

most people don't have a client id when they paid for the application so I don't think it will be a problem. I've also heard of people finding out that their old client id they had with CIC (for whatever reason) was still their client id when it came to doing a spousal application. You're in the clear! Don't worry

yeh thats wat i wanted to knw and i did ask here but didnt get no response so i ended up mailing it..cost me 10 bucks..they received it in a day. havent heard from them yet..but i think it takes a month b4 i will hear anything from them.

JMA & Furkan, To the best of my knowledge there is no such facility of dropping of the application at CPC-M office you have to mail them out as the guidline provided the address. Guidline doesnt say anything about personal dropping.

Its ok if you spend $10 for mailout postage, FYI Economy is recovering from recession so you need to spend the money to participate in recovery process as a customer.

i had no problem spending 10 bucks, If i had to go to missisauga to drop off the app personally, it wud have cost me 15 bucks or more on my minivan from scarborough.
