Hello everyone,
I am about to apply for EE via CEC. My only concern is whether CEC requires 1560 hours per year (on an avg) or 30 hours per week (compulsorily)
I have one year of experience as on today. 1st 2 months I worked for about 10hours per week, next four months was about 32 hours per week and the remaining 6 months I worked for 40 hours per week.
Please help, Thanks.

They need 1560 hours. They don't count any hours above 30 a week. Your calculation will be

24 * 30 = 720
16 * 30 = 480
8 * 10 = 80

for a total of 1280 hours. It may be a little more depending on the exact weeks (I used 1 month = 4 weeks, some months have 5 weeks), but you'll still be short by quite a bit. You need more work experience.

Thanks for your quick and prompt response.. I understand that they dont count anything more than 30, but would they count anything less than 30?
Further, what other documents would i need to provide in support of my employment

Yes, they count hours you worked, but no more than 30 a week. I calculated that above.

You'd provide a letter from your employer, copies of pay slips, possibly a T4, etc. to prove your employment.

alright. thanks a ton.
Was also wondering what about applicants who get paid via cash, cheques, interac etc. (I feel as long as taxes are paid, there shouldn't be an issue)

Anything below 30 hours would be counted as part ime.
So calculate accordingly. If your part time and full time job equals to 1560 hours, then it can be counted as 1 year of Canadian experience.

Unfortunately, no, not as written. I believe the NOC for that job description would be 6421, retail sales person.
http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/QuickSearch.aspx?ver=16&val65=SALES

If you actually were a supervisor, it could be NOC 6211, but your job duties and responsibilities in your letter of employment would have to hightlight the supervisory duties.

Thanks for the reply, i just checked the job duties of 6421, none of the duties match the job description. Whereas in 6211 job duties are training staff selling merchandise leading the department etc..

Your list of job duties and responsibilities is too long, too detailed, and too jargony. You need to summarize in 5-10 statements your MAIN job duties and responsibilities, as well as clarify where you work - are you in a retail store (Staples) or company headquarters ? That pretty much will constrain your choides. This will help you see whether there are parallels or not with NOCs.

So if i ask my manager to only mention duties on reference letter which are parallel to the noc 6211, which he will help me out with, will that work?
