I am pregnant and my son will be born in the US where I have insurance but my husband has Canadian citizenship by birth ( he's born and raised in Quebec) so my son can still get it? I ask because I want to be sure he's covered as well for the citizenship(s) which ever the case may be.
Your baby will have Canadian citizenship through your husband. My two kids were born in US as well and they are Canadian by descent through me.
So if your new baby ever decide to stay in US and have a child, your grandchild will not be Canadian.
The only advantage my 2 kids have is the ability to work in the US without any visas required. If they don't have any intention of living/working in the US, I will leave the decision to renounce their US citizenship to them when they reached 19.
